Hurricane in the Fast Lane

Why is a fast hurricane a good thing? Because it came in and left in a short time causing a minamum of damage in New Orleans.

I live about 80 miles east of New Orleans and all we got was a bit of rain. A couple of weeks ago thousands of people were without power for several days from Delta even though the eye passed 150 miles to the west, once again causing devastion in the Lake Charles area. Lake Charles, if you rememeber, had suffered greatly from Laura only a few weeks previously.

I didn't lose power from Delta but my internet was down for the most part of a week, I did manage to get some work done with the wifi at a coffee shop. Not exactly the laptop lifestyle we all envision.

Funny thing though. There were very few customers at the time when I went to the coffee shop. The few of us were separated by 20 or more feet and most were not wearing a mask. The last day I went in the barista told me I had to wear a mask, I asked her how was I supposed to drink coffee with a mask on She said i could take it off until I finished my coffee,. Funny how it took 2 hours just to drink one cup.

In California the government has mandated that people in restaurants had to put their masks on between bites at restaurants. People are supposed to observe Thanksgiving outside and for no more than 2 hours. And no more than 10 people even at a private home And no hugging. Or yelling. Can you imagine Thanksgiving dinner with relatives you only see once a year for good reasons? . I'm really glad I don't live in Lala land. I would be an outlaw.

Why don't they come to their senses, they been puttin' us in fences for so long. Desparado.
