Down time, unload and unwind…

Today I was reflecting on how much work we all do. A post a day, social media, training and answering those seemingly thousands of emails everyday.

This morning I did another post and am using the new bright and shiny Google approach to things. Takes more time but I am happier with the results?

Last post indexed overnight,

Which is all nice and good, but I want to know a little bit more about you. The person behind the post. What do you like doing in your downtime. How do you relax.

To get the ball rolling, here is one thing I enjoy doing. I like to draw and just turn off the brain for a while. I always come back from my internal flights of fancy invigorated.

And a few pics I like to draw.

And a couple more

Another escape room...

and....

So, how do you unwind and relax in those precious moments between work...

Make sure we all have our down time, because it's good for the soul and gives us time to think.
Share with me what your Beta mental state includes.

Many thanks

Stephen

You are a talented artist my friend - and you may want to consider selling some of your work.

As far as relaxing - as weird as it may sound - I love to drive cars, and other vehicles.

I also LOVE to be on the water in a kayak or a small cruiser of some kind just floating and chilling out.

Occasionally I like hiking too - and will be doing more of that as I am back in the Shenandoah Valley and there are some beautiful parks and trails within half an hour or so of here.

In years gone by I enjoyed some classes learning to fly paragliders and may take that up again as there are some in this area - but I always seem to have far more interests than I have the time to pursue ; )

Best regards,

L.D. Sewell

I don't think driving cars for relaxation is weird at all. I remember when we were all younger my Dad and Mum and I use the go out for a drive and just see where we ended up. The journey, not the goal. I guess that is where it started.
Then in my teenage years, I invested in Chevy impalas ( Pillarless) , remember this is new Zealand.lol. and I remember one of my mates had an old 65 Lincoln convertible. haha. At least we knew where our salaries went. And another fiend had an old custom line..all great cars. Built like a tank..and drove the same, lol.

I love the drawings, and especially love the waterfall! Did you create that too?

Have you thought about a website for displaying and selling your drawings?

I see a whole new niche here..

"Artistic musings in meditation."

I'm sure the keyword phrase would rank favorably in Jaaxy!

Keep on thriving, Stephen!

Al

Thanks Al, I enjoy my drawing, but know my limitations. My work is sporadic at best. And I can only draw effectively a few times a year.
Drawing just takes hold of me sometimes, but. I like it too much to turn it into a money thing.
And, I wish I could take credit for the waterfall but I do love sitting out front with my laptop and working next to it….

Peter, those pics are awesome! I didn’t realize that you were an up and coming Picasso. I need a portrait done after I polish my hook.

I like the idea of turning off the brain and enjoying a little R&R to unwind. Without it, we become mindless drones.

Canty

Peter Picasso has a certain ring to it, lol.
I am sure I could whip together a picture of you polishing the hook or fighting a crocodile…

And yup, you are so right..we need to be able to turn off that switch every now and again.

😂🤣😂

Stephen, you are a budding artist with a very creative mind.
Very refreshing.

I am with you on the need to relax.
Yesterday I was telling a business partner that my work life's trajectory continues to be so good that I am beginning to feel the pressure of the demands.

So, this is a relaxing weekend.
My daughter and I are catching up on some reading and movies and making sushi today.
Tomorrow we are heading to the beach.

It is important to wind down.
Wishing you an enjoyable weekend.

Cassi

Sounds like the perfect weekend, we need the ability to wind down.
When I start going monster mode at work, I sometimes have to stop myself and think about how the balance in life actually helps me connect and relate to my readers.
Have a great Weekend.
Stephen

That makes good sense, Stephen.

Thank you.

Cassi

Some nice drawings there, Steveoi! You've got talent, my friend!

I do hope that you reported the human head you found in the title image to the authorities! 😲🙀😹🤣

Btw, aren't you and Simone supposed to be having an "April Challenge"?

Jeffoi

Yup, for both. The head..hmmm. Started off as a nasty pimple and just grew..lol.
And the challenge has been delayed for 1 week. Kick off on the 8th.
I’ve had some personal stuff happening and Simone has been a bit sick….but it is happening.

Stevoi

Haha! I'm glad to hear that the Challenge is still on my friend! I hope everything else is getting better for the both of you too!

Jeff
