Covid is the new C word. it used to be cancer. ( I am not being flippant, as I have had and survived this 'C" word as well). But in Ho Chi Minh City,Vietnam this has closed the city. The general populace are quite poor by European standards, and 6 weeks off work has made a lot of people desperate. Schools are closed, shops are closed, businesses are closed and people here are hurting. The last 6 weeks have drained peoples bank accounts and wallets. A lot have come to the stage where they can not afford rent and food. So my priorities have changed during this period. My days have been taken up with buying rice and vegetables and helping the poor. So if you haven't heard from me, it is because I have been helping my neighbors. Sometimes in times of adversity you have to put others first. Unfortunately the government is not helping those in need. And if anything is handed out ( Money) It goes to the police and their pockets are very deep.

If you are lucky to live in a wealthy country ( The USA, Canada, Australia etc) most people have the resources to survive a lengthy lockdown. Vietnam, is a developing country and there are still a lot of people who live day to day. As empathic and caring human beings it is times like these that we all need to help. ( Yemen comes to mind)

I believe this is the same or at least similar process we need to connect with our potential " customers". Provide that help, give support, offer something that covers their need. If we can do that then we will get people who want to connect with us. Good things come to good people.

P.S. I have tried to keep this as positive as i can and I hope we can all help others in this time of emergency.

P.S.S. My next blog will be about Covid and the elite. Luxury and lowlife.

All because of a "pandemic" that doesn't exist. Very crazy times.
I don't even dignify the "C" word by mentioning it. It has far more than enough PR without my help. Like they say, real pandemics don't need an advertising campaign. They are quite obvious!

I agree. Whatever happened to natural immunity. Nothing like this happened in 1918 with the Spanish flu. More died then. Lockdowns are great if you are rich.

I'm a can of worms brother, and you are dangerously close to opening me! Haha. I live in Canada and have been brutally beaten by police and thrown in jail for simply siding with truth, as have friends of mine who are pastors and politicians who want to expose the evil. Arrested and jailed and treated like animals for nothing but standing up. You probably have heard of Pastor Artur? https://www.theblaze.com/news/canadian-pastor-artur-pawlowski-arrested
He lives literally just up the road from me, about 7 blocks.
Amazing that the majority of people seem to be walking around in a state of absolute moron, in a time where it has never been more important to be at least half awake and not slobbering all down yourself with your brains falling out of your skull.
Well, cheerio.

Stephan, Vietnam seemed to be doing well early on against Covid. I assume they have had a flair up? Thanks.

Yes, It is not as bad as India or even America but the government has cracked down very fast to try and stop the spread. Unfortunately a lot of people are still not wearing masks etc. it is the poor that really concern me though as they are or have run out of money and food.

Thanks for your reply Stephan! I understand. I'm in the Philippines and the poor have been hit very hard.

Mel

I have a friend in the Philippines, Devin Myatt. He is there teaching, or not, because of Covid. He has told me a bit about it. The poor are always the ones that suffer. Very sad.

Stephen, sad indeed.

Thank you for sharing this. In the US, we don't hear about other countries and how they are affected by the covid pandemic.

I've heard how Viet Nam is a beautiful country, and I hope to visit some day.

Rudy

Thanks for the advice. Vietnam and its people are great and it is well worth the journey.

good morning my friend.. Can you please edit this at the end and let us know who we contact to help or where we send the items?

I am very wary of introducing a charity as I do not know how much gets through to the right people. I would check out the World health organisation as a start but again how much actually gets to the people in need. A lot of people in power here have deep pockets. I also think Yemen is in more of a desperate plight than Vietnam. But I applaud you for your selfless thoughts. Thankyou so much.
