All Done, Bar the Shouting.

My father used to have a “ saying” that went along the lines of …”All There Bar The….”

I am not sure if it translates from “Kiwi” speak to “Canadian or North American” speech or if it is a term that has been or still is used

It basically means, I have been working towards something and am a hairs breadth away from finishing the deal.

A Year in the Making.

This is something I have been working on for a year. And I have already been doing it, but on a smaller scale. Am I slapping myself on the back and feeling good about myself ? damn right I am. Lol.

On my ESL website I promote that I provide English teachers to schools around Vietnam. And while it has been happening, it has only been happening in “dribs and drabs” Effectively a lot of work for little return. But I have continued to promote it and offer that service along with other products for teachers as well.

And finally I have a company that wants little ol me to supply their teachers. I have an initial placement order of 20 teachers, with another 50 in 3 weeks. For me this is a biggie, as I charge $500US per teacher placement. However, I have also been offered a position to take a share of the company, so we are sitting down tomorrow and talking.

This is slightly, as I have said before, outside the box (in the way I thought I would bring in money with my website). But am I going to knock it back because it doesn’t fit the mould. Damn…no.

There are challenges that I know I need to overcome to provide an ongoing stream of teachers. Luckily this is something I have already looked at over the last year and I have measures in place that make it easy ( or at least) easier) for me.

If I hadn’t been working here (Vietnam) for the last 15 years with my own school and amazing group of friends and contacts, I would be absolutely freaking out. As it is, I am still mildly freaked out anyway.


The “Girls” in my life who are my biggest supporters. Ngoc,on the left, my daughter in law, but really my daughter. And Nga, my wife who rushed out and bought me an iphone14 for the meeting tomorrow as she thought my old Samsung was not good enough..lol.
