Mind Mapping - Does It Work For You?
Are you the type of person who gets easily distracted? Perhaps you feel overwhelmed with the amount of information you continue to absorb daily.
I know most of us use different methods to keep ourselves on track. Setting our goals is one method proven to work and has been tried and tested. But here is the problem. Setting goals and putting them into practice are two different things.
Personally, I have struggled from time to time to stick to my set goals. Also, remembering ALL the stuff I want to put down on paper when it comes to writing my CONTENT.
A friend of mine came to my rescue with some useful Hints and Tips. One of the things suggested is to use a Mind Mapping exercise for improving my memory. Memory is a skill which we can improve through practice.
Mind Mapping - What Are The Benefits?
- Improving, Concentration, Focus and Observation
- Tailoring Information to Our Personal Style of Learning
- Grouping Related Objects
- Involving Our Imagination and Senses
- Focusing on the Basics Only
- Organising Our Information
- Repeating Things to Improve Our Memory
- Taking Time To Relax
- Cultivating A Positive Mental Attitude
From the benefits listed above, I have just noticed my biggest problem is failing to practice rules number 8 and 9. Taking breaks and having time to relax makes ALL the difference.
We all have our own stories to tell. Please feel free to share.

Thanks, Melissa, for sharing.
Talking from my own personal experience. Not taking time to relax did not seem a big deal at first until I realised I was not making much progress.

Hi there
The clarity that I get from doing a mind map is often amazing.
Which is your favorite Mind Mapping program? Or do you prefer paper and pencil?

Thanks, Sharlee, for sharing.
I like using the paper and pencil method in addition to the method that EQV recommends. According to EQV, the answer to how we can improve memory lies in a method based on association, vibrancy and imagination. Basically, the one I explained above.
EQV (UK) is a company that provides learning service through delivering courses including Business Skills & IT user training.
I attended the Improving Memory training, well back in 2015.
Once again, thanks for stopping by.
