Keyword, Niche and Market Research

Hello, as I was doing my research for my niche I became somewhat confused. So far I am aware that the sub-niche you choose must have A high volume of searches and a low number

I don't know this terminology, "sub-niche". Your niche is your nich without regard for how big or small, broad or narrow it may be.

There is no requirement for searches, traffic or competition per se, however, if you want to monetize your efforts, it is desirable to have More searches, more traffic and less competition.

It's completely up to you, but if you find that nobody is searching for "Affiliate Marketing for University Students" you will also find that you will not have any traffic.

That's the best I can do.

I wish you the very best!

Hey John thanks for getting back to me. I think the biggest issue I'm facing is knowing whether or not a specific target audience I choose to appeal to will even be interested in my niche I choose. You're completely right about going into a niche with low competition and high searches. It's just the whole "finding a specific niche and an audience to appeal to" part has me going nuts.

It's not so much about your niche as it is about your content. If your niche is something like "Catfish Noodling" though, there might be a very limited number of people looking for content in that area.

When searching keyword, you are doing that for content, not to find your niche. Finding great keywords to write about within your niche is the trick.

Head over to the training area and you can find a few videos on selecting and targeting your niche. That will be the best help you can get in this area and it's free!

Your second paragraph makes so much more sense to me John. I was confusing keywords for content and niche but you're cleared it up. Back to training I go, thank you :)
