We all know that social media is one of the best methods to attract traffic to our websites for free. Your audience may differ on each platform, and so would their needs. For example, Pinterest uses images to find links connected to a topic that they are interested in. In contrast, Linkedin is a more informational site.

Each social media platform has preferences and restrictions, and we have heard of many people getting the axe from FaceBook. So what can we do to help us stand out on social media?

It only takes a second for a person to decide: Do I follow you? Or Do I exit?

Something to ponder.

  • Is your brand profile content visually interesting?
  • Are your potential followers interested in what you are posting?

I believe many users who use social media feel the same. If it's interesting and helpful, we will follow, but if it's of no use to us at all, we will bypass it.

How do we make our branding better on social media?

Social media is an essential part of our strategy as Affiliate Marketers. So how can we design visual content that will attract traffic to our website?

Our potential followers often discover brands on social media; therefore, our first impression is critical.

We write in our posts contributes to our branding, which forms a connection to our potential followers, and we need to be consistent on all our social media platforms.

So what do we need to think about?

  • Branding your business
  • Audience: Research the market to understand our target audience
  • Please get to know our Audience
  • Check out our competitors. What are they doing?
  • Be consistent with your logo
  • Post regularly

Is your visual theme evoking senses?

  • Don't use too many colours in your branding; limit to two; for instance, feminine colours for skincare would be a peach and another colour to suit or use red and white to represent a special day.
  • Use Canva for designing your visual page
  • Remember sizing will differ between social media

Our main goal for social media is

  • to create content on branding that will capture potential traffic to our website and engage them.

What are the best practices in design?

General design practices include:

  • White space, also known as negative space to draw the eye to what you want your audience to see.
  • Hierarchy positioning of your brand: what comes first, second and so on
  • Balance you design
  • provide some contrast

Your profile

Ensure your profile picture, cover photo, logo, and colours are all the same across all social media platforms, which helps create credibility and evidence of your branding.

Where to find Social Media Design Templates?

  • Canva
  • Lucid Press

When you are attracting traffic to your website, you will need to create meaningful designs to evoke the senses of your audience. You can do this with white space, colour, logo, photo, images that relate to your niche and engage them.

Really good post. Thank you for sharing.
I struggle with social media as I want to keep is separate from my personal accounts. It's taking me a while to get a handle on it. Thanks to you and others that are willing to share their expertise, I'm hoping to get there soon.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your response. Many of us at first struggle with social media. I glad you found my blog useful. All the best.

Great info thanks for sharing

You're welcome Lisa, thanks for stopping by.

Hi Yvonne, thanks for sharing this valuable information, have a great day.

You're welcome, Carola. I glad you find the information useful to you. Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Hey Yvonne thanks for providing ways to improve traction on social media. I was wondering about the advice to use only 2 colours in your brand. Is i for a psychological reason or printing reproduction reason? And have you had any experience with Lucid Press?
Thanks
Hugh

I think you will find using too many colours can detract from your brand. For instance, you need to look at your niche. If you are selling beauty products, you would use skin colours and maybe a lipstick colour.

Yes, it is a psychological reason and not a printing reason. It has to evoke the senses in your body. For instance, if your market niche is on strawberries, evoke a sense of watery taste in your mouth. Your brand would have a beautiful strawberry flush with colour representing a fresh strawberry and maybe a green leaf. Two colours. You wouldn't have yellow strawberries and a different colour for the leaf. It would not evoke your senses or your branding. Instead, you would be left wondering why did she colour the strawberries yellow. It would add to the confusion.

Have I tried Lucid Press? I have looked at it but not tried it. Some of these programs are free to try but cost in the end. I have used Canva.

I hope I answered your question alright, Hugh.

Yes you have Yvonne thanks much.
I was just wondering within the context of being different what one could do given how cluttered some niches can be. For instance, of all the insurance ads that are on tv the one that sticks in my mind the most is Progressive with that lady. These ads I believe are good at hooking interest yet not following the normal insurance carrier type of ad.
Will check out Lucid Press as I would not mind getting some more variety beyond Canva.
Thanks again
Hugh

"Check out our competitors. What are they doing?" - Great statement right there, thank you.

And of course knowing your audience really well. First impressions always last.

Great resource and wonderful share.

Hey Abie
My understanding we need research our competitors and find an angle they did not cover and run a review and cover that, that's how our posts would rank?
Knowing hangouts of audience we can meet them where they are at and try target customize to their wants and needs?
Thank you, wishing you well and a terrific day.

We can research our competitors through Jaaxy.

Hi

Yes like Yvonne has stated, you can research competition in Jaaxy, when you find a good keyword you can look under Search Analysis, or in Google and see who are the players with that keyword.

Then as you say if you can compete and make out then go for it, also make sure it is grammatically correct.

Absolutely you can look in your Google Analytics and study your stats well and look up in your niche forums and then leverage original content to meet their needs to hopefully resolve their issues. That's really dependent on your research and how well you convey a high impact copy to get the message across.

Some important elements here are user experience, keep that in mind. There's so many other variations, however when you start doing you gain great experience down the line.

Thank you for your questions Lula.

Hope you guys are having a fabulous day.
