Murphys Law

Do you have plans and then find the unexpected happens?

It seems to be that way for me and my boss this week.

So what is the theory behind Murphy's Law:

If anything can go wrong, it will.

Today I had everything planned getting organised for the Easter weekend, my boss made easter bunnies out of face cloths, and we put easter eggs in them for the guests for Good Friday; we are running an Easter egg surprise over the long weekend. Not just for the children but adults as well.

On Sunday, we will do an Easter Egg hunt for children and have campfires in the evening for families.

So what happened?

Qld and Northern NSW have decided on another COVID 19 scare. This media fright should not have affected us down south, but it has, once again.

So what happened?

Reservation cancellations happened for SA. Blah! Blah! Blah!

This week, other things also happened to me, which you already know about, but I did get some surprises from Mr & Mrs Google, who cheered me up immensely, including my following at WA, who have wished me congrats. I appreciated that so much.

What I would like to know who invented Murphy's Law.

I did some research on Murphy's Law, and guess what, he is a real person! I thought he was Irish. Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!

He is a major in the US Air Force named Edward J Murphy during the 1940s. His specialisation was in engineering, and it involved a lot of testing of his designs, and he was often faced with things not working as he expected.

Many scholars had a difference of opinion regarding the exact phrase used, but they all agreed the meaning is obvious.

Some people disagree with who the original owner of "Murphy's Law" was, and it was thought to be a saying by a guy named Sod, and the law should be named after him. Could you image it S..Law. No way I prefer Murphy's Law.

Here are some tools to help you along at WA to regain control when Murphy's Law happens:

  • If you lose something, don't cut corners looking for it; take a step back, take a deep breath and retrace your steps.
  • Your computer is not working as it should, so you decide to call in the computer fix-it guy/gal. The computer works fine when they log in.
  • Plan to do some work, but guests intervene, splitting your day and leaving you scratching your head wondering what you have done all day with your time.
  • You are happy with how your website is coming along, and Amazon pulls the plug, and you have to undo all the links.

Yes, Guys and Gals at WA, we could go on all day!

What interesting events do you have planned over Easter?

Mine is working, and hopefully, I get 2 more bogs written.

I'm still waiting on an answer from another Affiliate program, and it may not come now until after Easter.

Happy Easter to my lovely WA members!

I think Murphy's Law gives us a lot of fun. It lets us see imperfectly in our life. From facing difficulties, we found a lot of amazing solutions. We are created, by Almighty God. He has given us the best resources to face the challenge. Do not let the Murphy's Law to scarce you and rotten your wonderful life.
Just share how the Almighty God has helped me to clear my barriers and guide me for the best solution.
I hope you can get great help from Him.

Thank you for responding Stephen.

I'm all too familiar with Murphy's Law. I especially relate to 2 and 3 of your bullet points lol

I hope your Easter is unexpectedly wonderful, Yvonne. Unless Murphy's Law intervenes, we will see our son and family in two days. We will attend Good Friday service at church and Easter service on Sunday.

We used to host a neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt for many years. Great memories.

Through the ups and downs of your week, it sounds like you have managed to stay positive. I hope you have only ups the rest of the week.

Lynn

Thank you for your response.

Happy Easter to you too Yvonne. I had a major issue with my wife's car. A noise that we could hear when we drove at times. When the mechanic got in and inspected the car he did not hear anything. Had to go back again at which time he did.

Have a lovely long weekend Easter, Hugh

Plan to. Thanks Yvonne.

You're not the only one kicked home from work, and I'm probably resting for two weeks because of this covid. Garden work is waiting for what else there.

Hi Lea, I will be working; I think you misunderstood or I didn't explain it very well.. Have a lovely Easter.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, great stuff!

Your welcome Kingschido. Thank you for stopping by.
