What I do to manage my time this week...Newbie

Learning about affiliate and online marketing as a newbie can be very overwhelming. When i first decided to venture into affiliate marketing about a month ago, I would sit in front of the computer for hours upon hours researching, watching videos and reading articles. At the end of the day, I had notes everywhere about everything and after about 6-8 hours, I would've accomplished nothing. I had no directions and i was suffering a severe case of the horrible "information overload" I knew the basics of what I have to do but had no idea on how to do it, in what order and how to start.

Since joining WA 3 days ago, going through the Level one training, I've developed a tasked and time management system that is working for me so far. Here is what I did:

Planned for the week ahead-

When I started, I wrote down all my goals that i wanted to accomplish before the end of this week. For example. Finish Getting Started course, Make final decision on niche, Make final decision on domain name, work on website etc.

Planned for each day ahead-

Then, every night, I would take my note book and plan for the next day ahead. For example. Day 1 - Complete 2 courses in Level one, Spend 1 hour on niche research, spend one hour on possible domain names, work on my 'about me' page etc. When a task is completed for that day, i would cross it off my list. I made the effort to complete each task for that day. Doing that kept me from getting distracted by everything else and its teaching me discipline to 'stick to the plan'.

I also made it an habit not to sit in front of the computer for more that 1 hour at a time. So, every hour, i took a 15-20 minutes break and found something to do that is non-computer related. This helped me to refresh my brains and kept me focus. During my day, I also dedicated time to network, ask and answer a few question in WA. I made sure I made 2 comments or answer at least 2 questions in order to help someone out (providing I know the answers lol)

For my first week, and only 3 days into it, I've gotten much more accomplished than I did when I first started a month and a half ago. I feel less stressed and more confident that I Can Do this. All my task for this week is basically completed. Tomorrow (Sunday) and will finish up in time for next week. Although i must say, I owe getting this far to Carson, Kyle and all the other members who answered my questions, but my time and task management system helped me as well.

That's all for now folks...

Hey Yuwn...these are great ideas for managing your time. Thanks for sharing and good luck!

Good going Yuwn! Keep it up.

Good for you Yuwn. That's awsome!

Thank s lot Steve, :)

What a great schedule and congrats on sticking to it. There are a few things here I will pull out for myself and use, very inspirational. I have to manage this with working full time so it's important I create a weekly structure that works...and that doesn't cause me to ignore my wife and kids :) Thanks for sharing.

Wow thank you. Im glad a newbie can help you out in some way lol. :) Yuwn xxx

I am so big on time management. It is one of the most important factors of working online. To many people say they spend 8 hours on the computer but really only get an hours work done. Its okay to play games or what ever. When you are failing dont make claims that arent true. Like dont say i spend all day on the computer and im still failing.

Im very happy to see you seeing the importance of time management.

Hello Stcajo, I know what you mean. When i first started out I was wasting so much time online and not getting anywhere. Planning your time is very important for success.

Awesome way to plan things Yuwn! Always go at your own speed and what makes it even more rewarding is when you complete your goals ahead of schedule. Yes, sitting in front of the computer all day is not good even when you know what you are doing. When I used to manage a 6 person testing department for a Nintendo licensee company, I always made it a point to get my testers to join me outside of the office building for a walk across the street to a 7-11 convenience store just to get them away from their computer monitors. It always made them more productive. - Nice blog post!

Hey Robert, thank you for the encouragement. During this past week,I found that it really helped me to plan for the next day the night before and to also take a few breaks. I am hoping to keep at this system.- Thanks for commenting

You go Yuwn!

I work from my desk which I reserve for business only. On Sunday I will write from my laptop on the couch as I am more relaxed and have times to form my ideas in writing. It is a good idea to set goals for the week but do not set so many goals you get overwhelmed. Kyle has set up the training so you take it a day at a time so you can get the work done that needs to be done. He also gives you days to catch up so you can complete your writing. Thank you for sharing. I wish you the best.

Thank you so much for your advice. I am not yet 'on the other side' hehe but when i get there i will be testing Kyle's system out. Thank you for your well wishes and have a great day.

I do not have a work area as yet but i will be organizing one very soon. Right now i work anywhere lol even in my bed

This remind me of my past working environment. When you see a messy desk, you do not know where to start your day but when you see a neat desk, you will know what you have to do today. To be organized is a virtue and it has to be cultivated.

Yes for sure. I am trying to develop good working and time management habits from the beginning. Have a great day friend

Yuwn
