Coronavirus Schools Update for Arizona

Just received a call from my children's schools in regards to the Arizona Governor Doug Doucey's decree that all Arizona Public Schools are to be shut down starting this Monday March 16th through no earlier than April 6th 2020 due to the spread of this disease.

Tomorrow we will be contacted by our public schools officials with instructions on how to access websites and equipement to continue education from home. For many people this will create a burden they are willing to address such as parnets of smaller children who have multiple jobs.

For us, as I mentioned to a few people a couple days ago the scare has hit home at the point where my Mother and Brother had to travel 23 miles to San Luis Arizona just to buy Toilet Paper, on the same day it was announced that the Border Patrol had a man in custody who was confirmed that morning to be infected with the Coronavirus in San Luis Arizona.

People are scared as businesses are being closed, people who can be transfered to work at home suties beiong placed on those task, and life for the time being is in question as to what tomorrow will bring. Meanwhile I have an Aunt in town who may not be allowed to fly home on the 19th, who is out playing Bingo at an area casino with my mom and brother which has been highly advised against.

It now hits home that this trip puts all my kids in danger so as much as I am praying for you and yours tonight I pray you will send prayers back our way. God will see us through this, man has the ability but God holds the plans.

Update: Wal-Mart is doing a great job with controlling opportunist suppliers and staying in stock or as close as possible to in stock on your most needed items. Despite the panic, the teams were very friendly and working hard to stock more during the day.

Schools here will be sending home the ipads students have used to do school work so our device needs are going to be met tomorrow evening. Thanks for all of your comments and prayers.

That's wonderful news.

God bless 🙏

Myra

Yuma, it's horrible what's going on all over. I have a son, two daughters and grandchildren in Arizona. I just moved from AZ to San Diego in late Feb. It's getting kind of scary here as well. Store shelves are empty. So much uncertainty. I will keep your family in my prayers. Stay strong and keep the faith during this trying time.

Best regards,
Linda

My mom has worked for Wal-mart for nearly 18 years and for the first time things are flying from the shelves so fast they have no choice but to close the store in order to stock each night. Thank God she's on vacation this week but next week might be just as bad. A guy was stabbed over Water somewhere from what the kids told me today, still trying to find that story.

Wow. It's getting scary. Never experienced this awful domino effect that's going on worldwide. Now I know what these poor countries must be experiencing when they don't have bare basics to survive. This heightens our awareness to help each other if we can at all. Hope your mom does ok when she goes back to Walmart.
Take care,
Linda

Today we went shopping and other than bare necessities and vitamins still being hit hard the shoppers were in less of a panic mode and the staff was plentiful to help out. We even found Milk and Eggs on the shelf for the first time in days and women's feminine products in partial stock. Not sure about TP, we have plenty so we didn't check there.

Good to hear things got a little better. Just gotta ride this out.

Hi Andy,

Yes, I feel the same way, I was not scared but today, me and my husband went to Walmart to get some stuff to get ready for the week, everything is gone, no milk, juice, ham, eggs, detergent, nothing, I was in complete shock.

I am anemic and need to drink juice with my supplements to help my health issue, so now I would need to go to other places and see if there is orange juice somewhere. I can always take my supplements with water but it works better with orange juice.

I am kind of panicking now. I hope we get through this bad times soon.

Have a good night everyone.

May God help in your journey. Some things like this and my Aunt's and my Diabetic snacks get taken for granted or left off the list until late in the hunt.

Thank you Andy.

Have a good evening.

I will ask anyone who has seen me being perhaps more jovial than the situation calls for with jokes in possible offensive topics like lack of toilet paper to please understand that I am bi-polar and comedy is a coping mechanism when depression sincks in. I am just as upset about the issues we all face as many of you I just process it different.

Yep Andy. Same here the SE U.S. More confirmed cases by the hour and all public schools closed starting tomorrow.

It took me hours and over 7 stores just to get a few things. There's no milk, eggs, juice, dry milk, tissue paper, alcohol (not the drinking kind), alovera, or hand sanitizer.

Where there was toilet paper, people snatched it up my the buggy full.

Just waiting for the super volcano erupt... LOL

Stay well,

Michael

It was sad reading about some major cities having to deploy extra police because of people attacking each other over TP the other day. I pray those who have to go out and stock up still have a peaceful easy time.
