6 Years with WA and Why I Am Still Here?
Sometime in the last few days while I have been off with shoulder issues I have passed my 6th year with Wealthy Affiliate. I can't remember the exact day but June of 2014 I came here seeking to regain knowledge lost from a nervous breakdown and begin reclaiming my life.
I can't say it has been easy. The fact is I still let too much, especially a lack of decisive action get in the way but I have grown and am slowly regaining my independence. Injuries and illness have plagued much of the last two years as I began to actually apply all I was learning in a site that was not changing in one of my passions niche.
Still, I have all other thoughts, dreams, and goals firing on all cylinders and am ready to make this my best year yet.
Job 1 is to get caught up on the Super Affiliate Challenge. I am so far behind I may not get it all done but I will be damned if I am finished now.
Job 2 is to get this shoulder ready to go into high gear and get my content caught up while also getting the rest of Jay's recent Webinars watched.
Above all action will be the buzz word for my next year in WA. No more talking, no more study without immediate and 100% committed action.
I want to thank the more than 7,000 followers I have at WA and all the wonderful friends along the way. You inspire and make for an amazing community.

I'm also curious as to whether people make money as I don't see any posts which say 'yay, just got another check in the post!' for products they sell online . Is this a MLM where its all about getting other people to join AM? Have you made any money from your own interestd and your products in six years?

This is not an MLM as Wealthy Affiliate teaches you to create an Affiliate Marketing business in whatever niche you're passionate about. There is the option of promoting Wealthy Affiliate, but it's not necessary.
There are a lot of success posts here, you just have to look for them. I just saw a post recently about someone earning over $500. I've been here 6 years as well and I've earned some money in that time, but I haven't always been consistent with my business so I haven't made as much as I would like, but I have earned some money through my efforts and if I were to have remained focused each and every day like many others have said, I have no doubt I would've earned a lot more.
The training here works very well, but it is up to you to take consistent action with what you've learned from the training. The tools and training here at WA are wonderful, but you are the one who has to take action in order for them to work to your benefit.
With that being said, welcome to Wealthy Affiliate. Just follow the training, ask for help when you need it, and take consistent action. If you do those things, you will be very successful here.

In answer to your question, no, this isn't an mlm opportunity, far from it.
Wealthy Affiliate is a training, eduction and support platform (and much more) that just happens to have an income opportunity attached to it by way of an affiliate offer which is limited to monthly (or annually) recurring commissions for introducing new members.
This is limited to one "level" and doesn't go beyond that so it immediately fails at least one test for an mlm scheme.
Take the training for a test run and see what WA offers for yourself, you be pleasantly surprised.

There are people here who make a ton of money. On Guy, Eddy with a Y as he is known on his blog and YouTube made over 1 million dollars so far over the last 10 years. I make a profit from my business each year, and that profit will continue to grow. What you only see a couple of members doing is posting earnings reports and that's because this is not a scam, and no 2 of us are created equal.
There are beer blogs and blogs on aging, blogs on making money online, and blogs on trading baseball cards. We have chefs, and homemakers and so many more all earning based on the average commissions in their industry or niche, and the traffic they co0mmand in it. Some people will be in profit in their first 6 months, some will need 2 years to get their ah-ha moment and start seeing serious returns. Many of us have disabilities or are content with a slow and steady pace.
