Hi Everyone!
I'm stunned because I don't know if that's supposed to hapen, I have received 2 emails from wordpress that I have multiple users on my site?
Can someo
Did you add a user per the training? If not, you need to turn off user registration in your discussion settings.
how do I do that? After having only admin login I created one that is my name on the site. How do I turn that off and can these new users do harm to my site?
Probably no harm, but get rid of them just the same. Go to Users and see who is there and delete any you didn't create, then go to Settings > Discussion > Other comment settings that the 'Users must be registered and logged in to comment' box is NOT checked.
It is exactly like that on my dashboard. I deleted them but I can't figure out how they got there and how to prevemt it from happening again?
If you think your password has been hacked (which is almost impossible), you can simply change your password and put the very strong password, that's all.

Go to Settings > General and take the tick out of the box "Anyone can register". Then go to Users > All Users and delete the ones that shouldn't be there. They are usually bots trying to hack your system.

Or is it done automatically by purchasing the domain?
In case I have to, can anyone tell me what would be the best way?
Thanks a million!
Stella
Hi Stella,
Owning a domain name gives you no legal rights as a trademark to the actual name.
None!
For example, if you owned the domain 'cocacoladelights.com', you would still infringe on the name 'Coca Cola' and could even be forced to give up the domain.
Putting a note with a copyright sign © at the bottom of your website only protects the content of this site - nothing else.
Trademark, copyright and domain name are separate legal entities and should be treated like it.
If you want to protect your domain name, business name, business slogan, etc., you need to register it as a trademark with the national and/or international authorities.
I don't want to bore the wider audience with the exact procedure in Ireland, so if you are interested, please send me a private message.

Yes -- your own piece of internet real estate is so true...! Love that. You don't have to copyright it.
Anything you create or post on that site is also yours, and it may be helpful to put a disclaimer at the bottom of the site -- something like "© 2018 All rights reserved. No part of this site may be reproduced, copied, photographed or used in any way without express permission from the owner/author......"
Something like that....
You can also put similar language on your privacy page.

I keep reading about domain thefts online and was thinkin if there's anything else to do. Thanks for replying!
