Before the update there was a section on our profile and others where you can add brand new members who just joined WA.

Featured Comment

This is going to be coming back and reintegrated into our new profile design (showing new Starter members), it will hopefully be live on Monday. :)

Great! That's awesome news Kyle. That feature was so convenient and a great way to welcome new users to WA.

Yes just realised that through your post.

Yeah it was a great feature. So easy to add new members of WA.

The bottom line is we will have to wait for K&C to restore this function.

Yeah, I sent Kyle a message so we'll see what he says. I'll update the post when I get a response.

All you need to do is go to the Activity Dashboard and click the "Activity" tab.

Those only display new Premium members (they could have already been a regular member for months before they upgraded) and include those you already added. The one that was on our profile displayed New WA members (members who just joined WA) and only displayed those that you haven't yet added which is very convenient.

I have no idea for this..

Pat

Yeah, it was a great feature. Hopefully they bring it back

hi andy
see here for my alternative hope things are going well
phil

Thanks Phil! That's is a good alternative but the great thing about the "New Members" thing is it only displayed those that I haven't added yet and would drop off as soon as I add them and I wouldn't have to go directly to their page to add them.

With the Google method I would have to click into each profile and add them and they also wouldn't "fall off the list" so it would take more time doing it this way. It's just a convenience factor.

take your point - ask the big guys - Carson or KC?
it's worth keeping the other thread updated as well if you can
phil

It's now under your profile picture on your profile page and still on the activity dashboard

What you are talking about is "My Network" which are members who I already added. I'm talking about the section where any new members who I didn't add yet are displayed and can be added quickly and easily. (See screenshot)

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/home on the activity dashboard you find new premium members

Yes, those are New "Premium" members only. Those members may have already been here a few months before they decided to go Premium.

The "Add New Members" section had members who just recently joined WA (non-Premium) and the great thing about it was it only displayed those users who you haven't already followed whereas the New Premium Members section show only Premium members and also list those who you already followed.

You could go over to the money thread, those members are brand new

That would be an alternative but not as convenient. I like that suggestion though.

Hey Yakitori ^^ Yeah, it looks like it's gone. We can still see new members in the home page though. Edit: I got confused, the one in the home page is new premium members.

Yeah those are premium members. The great thing about the new members thing is it only displays those that you haven't added yet.

Oh, I see. That's why it is so great. They should bring it back.

Been here for over 3

Ive had these stats in 2 weeks on FB no sign ups just posting WA affiliate is this normal no sign ups I been in 3 weeks

I don't have much Facebook experience but I believe it is normal especially if you are just starting out. You need to actually focus on content of your site so when people on Facebook click to view your post you have excellent content that will entice them to take action from your post. Simply having links to the WA signup won't have good conversions because people want to know what they are signing up for and the benefits before they take action.

I am also following you on this, as I am having some of the same issues. I've started using Yoast SEO which can be totally annoying when I just want to post and go, but I am hoping it will help with my ranking and content.
-Kathy

Yeah, hopefully we can get some insight on what others are doing other than just SEO to promote their site and get traffic.

My site gets spread around through social media of course. I also have the word of mouth from people in my life. AA and NA meetings will share the word about my recovery group. While folks at car shows and vintage curiosity places will share the pin-up page

It's great that you're able to promote your site by word of mouth and face to face methods. Not sure if I can apply it to my Earthquake Preparedness niche but it's good to see how others are doing it.
Thanks!

With 2000 followers have you collected all their email addresses? Then you can use the "old-school" approach of sending personal emails for a more intimate and focused niche communication to the devoted "tribe" you're cultivating. BE$T, Dan

That's an interesting idea but how would I go about collecting their email addresses? Although I have 2000 followers on Twitter they don't necessarily all go to my website. I do have a newsletter subscribe pop up that comes up on the site.

How has your subscription rate been? Even with those members you could start a small periodic email campaign maybe asking that group survey questions or raffle off a discount for an earthquake pack. Something only this special group has access to. Then maybe they encourage friends to join. A bit of work but there are lots of sites for info on this as I'm sure you know. I'm following you closely and am learning a lot. Dan

Those are very good ideas however I only implemented the newsletter plugin less than a month ago and have no subscribers yet. I've read other articles where the newsletter is very powerful and can give you lots of sales but I guess I need to build a good subscription base first to do any of those techniques.

Google "Lead generation cards" and let us know if that's helpful.

Yeah I did take a look a that when I was creating my when I was writing the Twitter Ads lesson but seems like those are used for Promoted Tweets which you have to pay, similar to Google Adwords.

Nice blog, i have save it for later and i will be going through all the questions and making notes so thanks for that :-))

My sentiments exactly!

:-))

Yakitori, If your blog or site is well positioned by Google, in a keyword "potential buyer" and have many more than 500 monthly searches, you will have many queries that finally turn into money. This is the best way, my friend. Also, I'm watching your sites the content is excellent. There isn´t limits for you!
Claudio

Thank you Claudio! I know SEO with good content and search engines are the way to go but I was just wondering what other ways there are other than solely relying on search engines.

Yes I´m agree with you please not stop and many thanks for all your advices!

I have 2 that are half done. Stopped one to do the boot camp and both were Google indexed within ten days. If I plug in my keyword, it is half way down on the first page. Do you have all the back stage stuff correct?

Yup, I do. I use the All-in-one SEO plugin and have followed the training videos. I do have all my pages index but none are on the first page.

I put at least 3-4 sets of keywords in there on every page and post and they say to blog 3 times a week

yakitori,

You have gone from 0 to 2000 a month within 3 months? I would like to know how YOU do it. My site is nine months old and I submit my new posts to google+, pinterest, facebook, and my tweets are stacked in batches of 10 to go out on a schedule. I also submit to wa for comments

On the day I submit, I may get 50 or 60 visitors, on days I don't submit it drops to 10 at best.

I have followed the training and have stopped at PPC, because even the training says DONT move forward until you have some traffic.

I don't know what to do but you seem to be doing well after 3 months.

I am at a total loss :o(

Any advise what I should be looking at?

c

I actually recently posted training on Twitter which describes the various tools and techniques I used to gain followers:: As for the visitors I too am in a similar situation as you. On days I submit I get a lot of visitors but other than that it's not that high and would like to increase it which is why I wrote this question. Hopefully someone with experience can help us out and give us tips.

Yakitori, One method I use to get visitors is to offer traffic programs.
Everyone who uses Traffic exchange sites is in need of Traffic.

Banner ads or text ads that relate to Traffic will draw eyeballs..anything else you may advertise I have found to be a total waste of time.

How effective has that been for your site though? I don't just want traffic for the sake of stats. I want people who are actually interested in my niche and who will look through my content.

No yakitori, solo ad means when some has a list , you pay him money as a service to send your link to their list...

And it's not any traffic, it's a list that is interested in your niches, that's why they signed up...

You may be interested in seiro, blog https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/sirio/blog/30-day-challenge- do a search u will find him

Ahh I see. Thanks for clarifying

Thanks! I will check out his blogs

Http://ad swaps.com it's free to join go in and sis it out...

Stats are very good for the affiliate programs i use to sell traffic courses, etc.. When i use exchange sites to offer make money programs, they bomb. Exchange sites surfers all what traffic or something FREE.. the free wordpress website also pulls traffic

Thanks! Will check it out

not sure if I'm going to the right site. Is that the correct link?

the adswap site is incorrect

Ahh got it! Thanks!

I read one blog from someone who is going to Vegas this year because he has the numbers...it was a really long blog and he kept repeating do the training, do the training, do the training it's how he was successful...I have looked at his site, only one and it is only about WA...

Yeah I did do the training and it's mostly about writing good content and SEO. I'm just wondering what other methods people are using other than relying on search engine traffic.

Hi yakitori, I think this would be a good subject for jay to do, be interesting it how he goes about it, I know a few marketers, use solo ads as well as Adwords, but I think it would coat a packet, so finish a guy who sells solos in your niche would be a good way to go... Try ad swaps you can become a member and try to look for someone in your niche...

And if you take that route just be careful, read their review and pick carefully some people only use the solos for making money, others will not send unrelated stuff to their list... Talking out of experience...

By solo ads what do you mean? Is it a graphic ad that you swap with other sites? I've thought about Adwords but I don't think that's for me for now until I grow my site bigger with more content that will bring in sales.

Do you have any sites as resources that you've used in the past? I'm not sure how to get started.

You worked all the way through the bootcamp? I've barely scratched the surface....

I'm up to the last part (PPC) but stopped there because I don't think I'm ready for PPC yet. I did finish the Certification Course though.

WOW, I am impressed....you might like to read this guy's struggles..he was an expert internet marketer and after a number of years this is what he ended up doing. This may not be your dilemma but it can't hurt to read?

Also your niche is very specific and this guy is only talking about WA but the principles apply...

UPDATE! I just launched my FIRST training!

Ultimate Guide to How to Use Twitter

I acutually dont have an idea or different between the tutorial and course all i am sure of is that i found your lay out interesting and can't wait to get your teaining.

Yeah this is my first training so I'm learning as I go. I better get to writing because there's a ton to cover

Seems to me having 9 individual tutorials is a more logical progression and easier to follow and track one's progress.

Great! Thanks for your thoughts!

Ya I think 1 course with 9 pages, one per lesson, is the best way to go here. Have yet to master twitter so looking forward to it when you are done!

Great! I better get writing then because there's a ton to cover!

When you have a good idea for some training, you will probably know. Jut make sure it is something genuinely helpful, related to internet marketing in some way, and hasn't already done before.

I already know what I'm going to be training on but I just don't know what the best way to lay it out is as each "lesson" covers a lot. Should I have 1 big course with each page being a lesson or have 9 separate courses with each lesson heading being a page?

For example, I could have 1 massive course called "Ultimate Guide to Twitter" and have each "page" in the course covering an entire lesson or I could have 9 separate tutorials or courses like "Twitter - Getting Started", "Twitter - Account Overview", "Twitter - Lingo and Guidelines", etc as individual courses.

Ahh, I see, okay, in that case...

I would say that if you already know what each part of the course is going to contain, it's best to create one big course. In other circumstances it can be good to create lots of small tutorials and link them together, like if they get created at different times, which is what I am doing with my niche case study series. But if you already know what it's all going to be, it makes sense to make it all one big course.

And if this really is going to be the ultimate guide to Twitter, I think that would extremely valuable here. Twitter is something I've never really got into properly, but I think it seems better than Facebook because it's less intrusive. So I would definitely be interested in going through your course, and I'm sure many other people here would be too.

Oh ok, I do know what it will be about however I haven't written all the lessons out. So do you suggest me write all the lessons out and then doing the one big course or make small tutorials and link them as I write each lesson?

Yes, write out all the lessons and then create one big course. I think it will be very good to have it all in one place.

Awesome! Thanks for the tip

You should be able to link but it might confuse folks with their own training even if explained clearing.

Good point. Maybe I'll go with one big course and have each page as an entire lesson.

I would go for: have 1 individual course with 9 pages with each page containing a full page covering a single lesson.

Because it is all covering 1 topic: advertising using Twitter.

Great point. Guess I better get started writing then because there's a lot to cover

I still consider myself a Twitter newbie, so I am really looking forward to your training!

Great! Hopefully it'll be useful for you

I'm sure it will be!

Thanks! Already started working on it

Great, go ahead.
You have covered everything.
Thank you.

Thanks!

A course appears more basic and would be a good way to get started. I don't believe the to your own courses or tutorials.re. are any rules against linking. Congratulations on your milepost Andi.

Ya I was learning toward a course but not sure whether it's better to have just 1 course with each "page" containing an entire lesson or have 9 separate courses, breaking down each lesson heading into "pages". For example, just having one huge "Ultimate Twitter Guide" course or having "Getting Started with Twitter", "Twitter Account Overview", "Twitter Lingo and Guidelines", etc as separate courses

Wow, this looks great. Well laid out and progressive. Look forward to taking the training. Best wishes on this.

Thanks! Just not sure what the best way to create it is as this is my first training

I'm thinking of creating a travel site and wondered if any of you have created one. I'm sure there are some who have.

I know that you can link to other sites like Expedia

So I joined the Expedia affiliate program today. I'm just waiting on approval, but I noticed that their commission were garbage! I thought I had seen that before and that's why I didn't sign up with them. But you post peaked my curiosity again, so I applied. But from what I could see, it's like $2.50 for lights, 7% for hotels, which good, but some of the other rates were low. So just an FYI, but check it out!

Oh wow really? What other programs do you use that have a decent payout? I prefer one that has both flight and hotel. I'm glad I didn't build anything to integrate Expedia yet.

Hi Brooklyn, I got approved as an affiliate and once you get in they tons of ways to promote and literaly 100's of different options on basic banner or text links with different payouts some really ggod.

Funny you mentioned that because i was just recently approved as well and I've noticed the same. Their commission really isn't all that bad once you get in and see what they have to offer. Thanks for mentioning it! Cheers :)

Great question and some good answers. I am glad you asked it.

I was trying to ask something along the line. I joined in HopRocket last week and was thinking how I could affiliate it by using WA.
Being a newbie here am still seeking the know how.

Anyway check the website on www.hoprocket.com.

Here is an organization Andy which specializes in travel writing, photographic expeditions and the like that you can borrow from and link to: http://www.greatescapepublishing.com/

Wow that looks like a cool site. I may have to use them as well

Wow! Great site! Thanks for that reference. It'll definitely help me with ideas.

Hi. I don't have travel site. But I like travel. When I'm buying air tickets and booking hotels. I search several sites and buy from cheapest one. These are the sites. But I don't know whether they have any affiliate programes.

Can I give you a quick tip for when you're price shopping on travel sites? Either clear your cache before you go to purchase or search under "incognito mode". The cookies on these sites will jack up your prices. :)

Thanks.

Thanks for the list! I usually shop around the same sites as well when I'm booking online.

Great advice. I read that in an article before as well.

I have a travel site and I just added in a few of my travel links in widgets. I also have a white page ad for skyscanner that I am still trying to figure out. I haven't signed up with Expedia but may in the near future :)

Oh ok, so looks like most people are using ads to redirect them to 3rd party sites. I know Expedia has an API that allows us to send and receive data so I can display dynamic info on my site but it'll require custom programming. I was hoping that someone already did it and put it into a plugin.

Well that's kind of what I was doing with my white page ad. It's all customised. But it's difficult and there's no training on how to do it here. So it's a work in progress.

Don't take my travel customers away! Oh wait, I don't have any yet lol. I put in a request with booking.com. Fingers crossed

Haha don't worry, mine is targeted toward one specific country in South East Asia only so it probably won't clash with yours.

I'm affiliate with Expedia; I don't think any plugins integrate with WordPress, but I'm too new at this...not sure if I can help you with that

ok so how do you use them? Just affiliate links that go to Expedia?
Do you use other affiliates or widgets?

Just links to Expedia on the sidebar, banners, and a couple of smart links ... again, I'm not sure if that is of any help to you.
And like JeffStave mentions, I did it trough CJ.
You are more than welcome to check my site out

Yeah I've checked out your site and it has date range searches and stuff. Is that all through CJ?

that's right

Oh ok, I'll have to check that out then. Thanks!

no problem

Hi Yakitori, Expedia has different affiliate programs, I believe what you are wanting is more in the lines of the travel agent affiliate program. In order to partner with them you have to join CJ Affiliate, once signed up to CJ you can search for expedia and submit a request to partner with them, they do a manual acceptance and will physically view your site before accepting your request.

Thanks! I will look into that. I guess I'll have to fully build out the site first then since they will be reviewing my site before I get accepted.
Do you know if they have plugins that I can add to my site that will give the functionality I mentioned in my question?

From what I have found it is very vague, I know that by featuring links on your site to their sales, promotions, and inventory, it just don't specify if the customer is directed from your site to expedia's. I will keep searching though, might ultimate goal is to have a site just like what you are looking to do.

Awesome! Would love it if you can keep me posted on your findings. Thanks!

Hello Yakitori, wanted to follow up with you on where I am at with my Expedia Affiliate, I got ACCEPTED, which is awesome! They have several different ways to promote them on your site. There are the usual banner or text links and deep linking options and you can also put a smart link on your site which will be a search engine for travel, you can also build your own smart link widget, except in both cases when the user clicks on these they are taken to Expedia.

Luckily, I received one of the newsletters tonighy and found what we are both looking for, they have Search API integration – provides real-time access to hotel, air, car and package pricing and availability in a data-only format that you can integrate into your site.

This is the one I am looking into-Booking API integration – allows affiliates to keep the customer on their site throughout the search and book process.

On the Booking API you have to email them, which I have, I will let you know how it goes.

Thanks for the update Jeff! Yeah, I knew they had an API for this but then you would have to program the integration and front end to your website. I was hoping that someone has already done it and we would simply add the widget and change some authentication values but I guess nothing like that exists.

I do not know the answer, but am interested. I am working with a leading travel writer and we are beginning to build a travel video site. As I learn, I'll chat with you, and I will watch the outcome of this discussion as well.

Good luck!

Great! That would be awesome

I added the Jaaxy plugin to my site so users can try it out. However, when they enter a keyword and do the search, the Jaaxy site loads instead of loading in a new window. This

I am having the same problem I will contact support to see what is going on.

I don't think that can be an option, sorry.

Thank you for asking. I sure would like to learn how to do it.

Sorry don't know the answer but will be interested to know the solution

thanks

I'm sorry, I don't understand the question- is there a Jaaxy plugin? I was under impression that there is only an affiliate link.

Yes, there is. You have to login to Jaaxy, go to Affiliate Program then click on Links & Tracking then copy the plugin code and put it in your content. This is what it looks like (scroll to the bottom)

Try asking Site Support. I think the only way to do this would take some advanced PHP Content Editing. Don't do this yourself as one mistake can break your site.
Best regards,
Jeff.

I tried to add:
"target="_blank"
into the code at several places, but it does not change anything. Sorry.

Yeah, you can't because the HTML is being generated dynamically from the Jaaxy javascript

I'm not sure how to do that. I tried researching with no results but maybe its a question for Kyle and Carson to answer. I did figure out how to add a widget for Jaaxy though. I can help you with that if you need me to.

How can you add Jaaxy to the widget? Just to save me some time finding out how. Thank you!

You have to log in to Jaaxy first. Then go to Affiliate Program, then click on Links & Tracking in the sub menu. Or you can just go here:
http://my.jaaxy.com/share/links

Just copy and paste the Jaaxy Search Plugin script and add it in your page using "Text" view.

I think I ask the wrong question. LOL!

How can I make the Jaaxy banner appear on my widgets? Because when I copy the HTML code provided in the Jaaxy affiliate program links to my text box in widgets, it only shows the URL, not the banner?

I can do it. I'll show you how a little later

Lemme know if you got it to work, VinceHuynh

This is very helpful. Thank you.

You're welcome.
