My First $0.08! WOO HOO!
I've been here at WA for about 3 and a half weeks. Been going through the training courses and working hard on my site. I haven't had Google Adsense that long but I thought I'd go in and see the activity. To my surprise I actually MADE MONEY!
I know $0.08 isn't much but considering the low amount of traffic I'm getting (average 12/day) since I'm not really ranked in Google much yet, it's really promising. One thing to point out is that no one clicked any of the ads yet, which was confusing to me.
Why am I getting paid when I have zero clicks?
So I did some research on Google and turns out there are some ads that are pay per view (actually advertisers pay per 1000 impressions/views) so I get a portion of that just based on the ad loading when people go to my page!
I'm really excited! Just imagine if I actually get real good traffic coming to the site and maybe even get a few clicks. I also have Amazon affiliate links in a few of my posts but no sales yet. I'm not expecting any for awhile either until I get more pages ranked in Google and more traffic to my site.
Still have a lot of content ideas for my niche which is earthquake preparedness so I don't think I'll be running out of things to write anytime soon. Just wish I'd have more hours in the day to do more.

Exactly. It's always a good idea to at least know what to do in the event of an earthquake since you never know where you'll be when it strikes. Knowledge is power. Spread the word! =)

the reason you got money even though nobody clicked the ads is because there are advertisers that will pay people if the visitors view their ads for a certain amount of time. You get paid per view

That's so exciting! Yes, it might not be much, but it's proof that you're getting started and that things are working. That's actually really impressive to see your first commissions within the first month! (I was initially hoping to see that myself in about 3 months, but this might motivate me to stretch my goal even more)
Yeah for sure, I wasn't actually expecting to make anything for a few months as well as I thought I needed to have a ton of traffic before I make anything but I guess I was wrong. Even with 12 per day at least I'm making something. And this is just the beginning! Still learning everyday by going through the courses. Didn't even get to go through the other resources yet. There's so much to learn! I'm so excited at the potential.

Haha that's the plan! Slowly and surely. I just can't believe I'm seeing results when I only had Adsense on for a week. I can truly see the potential once I get my site going.
Yeah it's great! I get to learn about how to make money and at the same time I get to raise awareness and the importance of earthquake preparedness so more people can be safe. It's a WIN-WIN!
