Why Running ONE Website Is A Full Time Job

A common question I get is, “How many websites does it take to earn a full time income with blogging or affiliate marketing?”

Simple... the answer is JUST ONE.

The Common Misconception Among Beginners...

Many beginner bloggers and affiliate marketers have it in their heads that they need multiple websites to generate a full-time income...

I’m here to tell you that this simply IS NOT true!!!

Creating several smaller websites is definitely a technique used by some affiliate marketers, that's undeniable, but is it truly the best approach?

I say heck no.

You are MUCH better off creating A SINGLE Large website!

With ONE powerful website, you have the capablilty to become an undeniable authority figure within your niche.

A very common problem I see with beginners is that they can't narrow their focus down to one site.

They get all excited over 3, 4, or 5 different blog ideas and then try to manifest all of them...

Doing this is a classic rookie mistake...

Regardless of your reason for thinking multiple sites is a good idea, it isn't.

You might feel that having multiple sites is a way of spreading all your eggs out into different baskets... you might also feel like multiple niches will be more fun.

RESIST THE TEMPTATION! I know it's hard, but hear me out...

A Single Website Can Earn UNLIMITED Income...

One difficult thing to understand as a newbie affiliate marketer or blogger is that there really is no limit to how much money your ONE website can earn.

Literally. No. Limit... Seriously, the SKY is the limit!

Unlike a traditional job that has a set salary, a single monetized blog/website is capable of providing you with a no-cap salary.... Literally.

Your one niche website can earn you as much as you need AND want per year.

If you’re just starting out, the concept of earning$10,000/month might sound like a lot to you, and it might even seem downright impossible to reach that goal.

I assure you; it is more than possible for you to reach that target with affiliate marketing.

The amazing thing is, you don’t need 50 websites to reach that target. Believe it or not, you will actually achieve that goal faster if you ONLY stick to 1 website!

A single affiliate website with high quality content + simple affiliate links can generate an insane amount in passive income for you. (I'm talking about a job-quitting income here)

Don’t Spread Yourself Too Thin...

When you take it upon yourself to create MORE than one website (particularly as a beginner) you’re severely limiting your potential...

I’m not telling you to NOT create more than one website, but that’s an option you should really only be considering farther DOWN THE ROAD once you’ve grown and established one successful website already.

You see, if you’re attempting to juggle 2 websites simultaneously, you are only going to be able to invest so much time and effort into each one.

If you're allocating your LIMITED amount of recources to each website, you’ll only be performing at 50% power and performance for each website...

50% power for 2 websites is NOTHING compared to 100% power on 1 website...

Even worse, if you do 3 websites at once, you're only operating on 33.3% power per site.

Ultimately, that will delay the amount time it takes for you to see results...

In plain english? YOU NO MAKE MONEY FAST.

So, instead of fracturing your attention to run 2 websites or more, concentrate ALL your energy on building a single niche site.

You’ll achieve SO much more because you'll essentially be cutting away all other distractions.

All your efforts and energies will be blasted on one point, like a laserbeam.

When you spread all your energy out into multiple websites, you're not concentrating like a laserbeam anymore... you're shining like a weak flashlight.

There's SO Much You Can Do With Just A Single Website...

If you take a full 16 hour day, you can work on a single website and never even come close to running out of things to do.

There's a lot that you could be doing right now that you're probably NOT doing to skyrocket your site traffic and sales.

The basics of making money with your site is creating content and using affiliate links. Easy as that...

Aside from the basics, however, there's so much more you can do with your site.

For instance:

  • Start a YouTube channel to promote your site
  • Get involved with social media to promote your site
  • Create NEW additional categories of content on your site
  • Develop your own e-books/products for your site
  • Build an email list and start an email marketing campaign
  • Start a PPC campaign
  • Create fresh content on an old topic
  • Create a personal brand

There are people who make a full-time living on just on social media alone.

There are also people who make a full-time living on YouTube alone, or even just with their e-books, email-marketing campaigns, etc.

If people can make full-time incomes with JUST these things alone, imagine what you can do if you apply a couple of them to your one website.

The possibilities are endless, really...

First and foremost, focus on one website and one website only. I know I sound like a broken recored, but THIS IS ESSENTIAL!!!

When you do this, all of your attention and resources will be concentrated on ONLY one thing at a time until you start generating a profit.

Don't Try to Run 4 Companies...

As an online business owner, your ABSOLUTE #1 Goal should be to start turning a profit as fast as possible.

Now, how many business owners do you know that start 4 companies at once? None! No sane person would do that.

Unfortunately, this is exactly what beginner bloggers and affiliate marketers are doing when they attempt to start 4 blogs at a time...

Ultimayely, this is a stupid, irresponsible business decision.

You Can Only Manage So Much...

A major problem with trying to bring several websites to fruition is the fact that you have more to manage.

One website is plenty of responsibility- trust me. You don't want to have to run 4.

If you just take the time that it would take to build mediocre 4 websites, and instead invest that into one AMAZING website, the results will blow you away.

Final Thoughts...

If you learn anything today, let it be the truth that you don't need more than one website to turn MASSIVE profits.

You do not need to start multiple websites to be "successful" online. Don't listen to anyone who insists that you do.

A SINGLE website can be MORE than a full-time income. As a matter of fact, a single website can turn you into a multi-millionaire.

I will leave you with this: I would rather have one very profitable website than to have 4 websites that are producing little to no income ANY day.

Thanks for reading, my Wealthy Affilaite family! Until next time!

Thanks for the advice you have answered some of my questions and concerns. As a beginner, I am not sure if I choose my niche too early without researching properly.

As you go through the process new possibilities open up and it distracts you from what you are doing currently.

So thank you. It is a great feeling to learn something new within 5 minutes of switching on my laptop to start the days work.

Aidan, I'm glad I could help you. As for your niche, I would recommend you choose an area in which you're passionate. A lot of beginners make the mistake of choosing a niche thinking it will be profitable and disregard their passions. I find time and time again that this is a colossal mistake. I advise you to choose something you will not mind writing about/ making content about all the time.

This is very good information. I was one of those newbies who created several websites and diluted my efforts. The result is 5 years now and I am not close to reaching my financial goal. I'm now working only ONLY one niche website and one WA promotional (bootcamp) site and that is PLENTY OF WORK. Very good advice - DONT DILUTE YOUR EFFORTS.

Shirley, yes, unfortunately many of us have to learn the hard way... through experience. I wrote this article in hopes others will read and learn from my past mistakes! I too made this mistake when I first started affiliate marketing. Luckily, I quickly corrected my path and niched down.
Thanks for your input!

Yeah. It's better to make the inevitable rookie mistakes with one site instead of two ;-)

Very true.

Outstanding advice....txs

Thank you.

Thank you so much Koda I really appreciate this post.

I was just thinking about building another website but you have made me rethink that I could actually add this onto a website that I have already because the theme is the same.

Thank you

Jennifer

Jennifer, yes I would strongly recommend you consolidate your works into your already established site, rather than starting from scratch.
Koda

Thank you I think that sounds like a plan.

You wrote this post just in time for me. YAY.
