Why Leonardo DaVinci Would Be a BAD Affiliate Marketer!
We're all familiar with Leo DV, also known as the greatest genius who ever roamed this planet...
His genius penetrated so many disciplines that he epitomized the term “Renaissance man.”
That said, I can't help but wonder if this god-like mind would still succeed in modern day 2020!
Take our profession, affiliate marketing, for instance:
Would Leo Make For an Excellent Affiliate Marketer?
Or would his particular style of genius actually hinder him today in 2020?
The more I thihk about it, I can't help but think the latter!
YES, it's funny to say, but I think Leonardo would be a pretty crappy businessman!
Why?! ...Well, there are actually TWO reasons:
1. He was a terrible procrasinator
2. He rarely followed through on his promises
Let me explain!
#1. He Was A Terrible Procrasinator!
Contrary to public opinion, Leonardo da Vinci was not a well-oiled, self-disciplined machine...
He was just as humanly flawed as the rest of us.
Instead of relying on sheer discipline, he relied mainly on curiosity.
There is nothing inherently wrong with this, but it would not serve well in the 21st century.
He chased only what he felt like doing, and very often ignored the things he dreaded.
In business, particularly affiliate marketing, we must do not only the things we feel like doing, but also the things we don't.
If we rely only on motivation and curiosity, we will still create amazing things, but we will fail to complete the necessary projects that need to GET DONE.
Curiosity might have been enough to succeed in Leonardo's time, but it is certainly not enough to succeed now in the technology age.
Curiosity is NOT enough...
Nowadays, we need not ONLY curiosity... but an entire arsenal of skills!
We need self discipline, time management, people skills, computer skills, organizational skills, executional ability, self-motivation, patience, consistency and drive...
Alright, onto my second reason...
#2. He Rarely Followed Through On His Promises!
Yes, DaVinci was a rule breaker- and not the good kind!
Belive it or not, He used make MASSIVE promises, ones which he would repeatedly break.
Several times, DaVinci promised the people paying him that he would have their projects done on time...
Surprisingly often, he completely bailed on these projects and left the region altogether, leaving a tornado of mess wherever he went.
While DaVinci was certainly a skilled worker, he was as unreliable as they come.
Instead of holding himself to strict deadlines and delivering on his word, he worked only as he saw fit.
For these two main reasons, I wholeheartedly believe that the Vinci would make for a truly terrible affiliate marketer...
In 2020, we can't get away with broken promises. Word spreads fast online! Your reputation is VITAL, and it's up to you to do what you said you would...
Otherwise, customers will quickly become aware of your flaky nature, and bye bye business!
So where does that leave you?
I wrote this short, silly post to motivate you.
YOU can be better than DaVinci if you just stay organized, keep your promises to yourself and stay organized.
Affiliate marketing is an online business, and it's up to you to keep things relevant.
Stay connected to your sign ups, do what you say you're gonna do, and deliver in a timely manner.
If you do these things, YOU will exceed DaVinci as an affiliate marketer!
