Banner Blindness in 2020: Banner Ads are HURTING Your Business!
I'll get right to the point: Personally, I find banner ads to be outdated, ineffective and downright tacky.
We live in a rapid-pace consumer society, one that BOMBARDS us with ads around every corner.
Don't think this has affected you? THINK AGAIN!
This overstimulation and excessive noise has rapidly desensitized us to the point where we've become blind to ads.
Adaptation has set in, and our filters have evolved to glide right over any percieved online ads on websites.
WHY then, do we KEEP using them as affiliate marketers!?
It makes no sense to keep using advertising methods that are outdated and innefective... Surely there has to be a better alternative.
Good news... There is.
As of this moment, I STRONGLY urge you to stop using banner ads, which actually DRIVE AWAY business!!!
Instead, use engaging ads that naturally blend into our content.
In my own business I have seen the INCREDIBLE power of shifting my method, and I promise you will too!
So, the next time you're tempted to slap a giant Banner ad on your website, fight the urge, and find a way to sell USING your content!
...You want it to feel natural and not forced. Consumers can smell "sales-y" a mile away, and they will avoid any offer of yours like the plague!
It's 2020, people. It's time for you to learn how to sell effectively WITHOUT plastering cheesy banner ads all over your website.

Great advice Koda. I haven't been using them because I felt this way, so good to know I was right. Thanks.

The other one that annoys me to no end are the pop up subscription opt ins. People think they're cool and neat, but they are so irritating. Who likes to always have to click a box away in order to keep reading an article?
Great info on the banner ads!
Thanks!
I agree, Jeff. In fact, if I am not truly interested, I will often leave the site when the pop ups begin. Not always with the first, but those with multiples have to be REALLY good for me to click through to read.
However, I've been told that users find they really work, and so they continue to use them. I'm not convinced.
I have to agree. The worst are those popups that have the close buttons that are hard to find. I have left some sites as a result. This is especially annoying if you have had a tiring day and just want to get on with it.

yes, I agree they are quite annoying. That said, I haven't found these to become obsolete or ineffective yet, so i continue to use them. The moment they have any adverse reactions on my sales, however, I would stop. Thanks for your comment, Jeff!
