What was the last movie at a regular theater?

What was the last movie at a regular theater? The last movie I caught was Star Wars, The Last Jedi. It was a had to watch movie for a couple of reasons. First it was part of what we all know as a great picture with plenty of action and special effects, and secondly because of the actual theater itself.

With plenty of room it what seemed to be a sold out venue was actually the opposite when the movie was released last December. My wife and I were able to get into a late showing with little to no people. OK well maybe about 30 or so people.

Theater lights go down and then with the full surround sound experience going, the movie began, and it did not disappoint as the entire film was created just right. All the tools for a great picture that had to be seen in a large theater.

Flash forward to now. There is nothing better to do than to watch and enjoy a great movie in the way they are meant to be seen, in a large theater with fresh popcorn, your favorite drink and the one you care about to enjoy the movie. Well looks like it's that time again and Tomb Raider is on our sights. I will not ruin the movie, such as my brother does and spoil the movie, but rather, I will no doubt let you know how the movie went tomorrow.

In the mean time, take it easy and be good to yourself, and get some rest. Big week looming ahead.

I can't remember because we watch Netflix.

Tried and true

Elaine

I do not remember when I was last time in the theater. I feel guilty that I do not spend enough time writing content. Someday I will go:)

I agree...it's a lot more fun to watch a movie on the big screen with that yummy, greasy popcorn!

I'm a little behind times. The last movie I saw in a theater was The Renevant.

Having lived in MO and now living in NC, where much of the movie was filmed, I really want to see "3 Billboards". I'm sure I'll recognize Sylva, NC, which is only about 30 miles from where I live.

Seems strange to me that they would shoot a movie about MO in the mountains, (unless it was supposed to be set in the Ozarks), but the Asheville area has a pretty active film industry, and they offer big incentives for people to film here.

Have a great week.

Carol

That movie is also on our list. Thank you and it sounds like your part of the world is such a scenic area. That is way cool. I an sure our grandkids would live it thus sometimes time allows us a bit of a luxury of watching a complete movie in the theater. Thanks Carol and have a great week as well.

Thanks, Xavier. You, too. Yes, the Smokies are beautiful. What part of the world are you in?

Our part of the World is about 9 miles east of the Formula 1 Racetrack near Austin, Yes Austin. Where we are experiencing some explosive packages. Very strange days indeed.

The only movies I get to now are kids movies. In the last school holidays we saw Jumanji and Coco. I agree, there is something magical about being in a huge movie theatre, waiting for the lights to go down, and popcorn. Not to mention seeing the delight on my kids faces :)

We can relate to that and we also enjoyed Coco. Our grandkids dis as well. We do include them also in our date night or movie experiences. These kids grow so quickly too, sometimes it's hard to believe. Thank you and have a great week.

You're lucky you live close enough to do "grandpa and grandma" stuff with your grandkids. I only have one who will be 18 in August, and I really don't know him. He lives in IL, and I get to see him about twice a year. He was 9 months old before I got to see him for the first time. So I really don't feel much like a grandma. I feel bad that my son didn't grow up with aunts, uncles, and cousins nearby like my brother and sisters and I did. So many memories...

Glad you had a great movie night.
Jerry

Thank you Jerry. Was nice to get out for a change of pace. Have a great week.

Lol, Xavier, cannot remember when last I went to a real movie. I lie it was Selma. Use to work in the theatre as an Usher, so I got to see a lot of movies for free. Great part time job, while in high school.

What a great job. At that time in your life too. I am sure it was a blast. I remember watching triple features at the Paramount on Saturdays. Great memories with friends and family. Thanks for stopping by.

My ex husband worked in the theatre when we were in college, and we could go free when he wasn't scheduled to work. I saw Dr. Zhivago three times! (Would you believe it was a favorite?!)

Lol, yes we had the same deal here. The Graduate, Gone With The Wind were two very popular ones.

I remember those. Also Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music.

Black Panther and I want to see it again.

Black Panther but in iMax

The Blind Side was the last movie I watched in the theater. The person who took me to the theater to watch the movie passed at the beginning of this year.

My condolences. Yes sir we don't know where our path will take us. Getting there is but the beginning. Thank you. Take it easy.

Xav.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I am sure they are in a far better place now. It is hard sometimes when these things happen as our Aunt just left thus world last week. I hope and pray that when I am gone my kids and grandkids continue their lives to their best as they can. Take care and have a great day. Thank you for your comments as well.

I missed "The Last Jedi", so I hope to get it on DVD this week. But today I'm going to see "I Can Only Imagine" at the theater. I'm looking forward to seeing it - haven't been to a theater in a while. - Shirley

Thanks for stopping by Shirley and your movie looks good too. Our movie experience was great. It's always nice to get away for a bit. It also opens my mind for new innovations and ideas to write about. I am hoping to finishing 2 articles I am working on right now. But anyways, it's Monday now and time to get back to reality.
