Hi all,

I had an really old post that's on the first page of google. Yesterday, I followed Jay's tutorial Giving Old Content a New SEO Life https://my.wealthyaffiliate.c

I noticed your point 3 - change creation date. I do not remember that being one of Jay's points however my memory could be going.

I think that the creation date should be left alone. If there is an updated date, I would assume that it gets updated automatically. Google and the search engines would "know" what the creation date is from earlier times of indexing the post.

@katkatskitchen says it is normal.

Thanks for the comment. Jay did say to change the creation date in that webinar. I was worried that if the creation date is changed, would google just treat it as a new post and lose its rank. But Jay showed an example live in that webinar and everything works just fine. That's why I followed his steps.

I'll wait a few days and report back what happens.

It is perfectly normal and happens to me you have changed the article and the index will take time to catch up

Great, thank you for the answer. I'll be patient and see what's going to happen.
