How many of us don't formally set goals? If your like me you say sure I have goals I set in my head, a couple written on the calendar.

I hardly ever accomplished any of them, does that sound familiar? There are numerous excuses for lack of reaching any particular one of them.

It's just like why this is only my second post, my excuse is I wanted to use the time in training and working on my website. Although these are good excuses, that's all they are.

I have made up my mind to stop, it all stops today. I am making it a priority to do what I was taught by over 30 years of management with both wholesale and retail companies.

First off is effective use of time management skills. Make a list of things you want to you want to do, must be done and could be done. Add anything to your list as they come up, mark out anything that is completed.

Once you have your list prioritize it using either numbers or letters, either one is fine, I will use letters.

A. Important and necessary.

B. Important and Should be done.

c. Can be done , neither necessary nor important .

Add items as they arise , assign priority and handle accordingly .

Delligate anything possible to subordinates based on abilities .

Next is to set realistic goals that are achievable, post pictures around your area wherever possible of items you desire, notes of things you want to achieve etc..

Mark calendar, notebooks , OneNote , whatever you use with your goals .

Reward yourself when goals are met, adjust them as it becomes necessary.

Stay focused and positive, negatively is contagious, avoid it at all costs.

I hope this helps someone here at WA , I thinkI wrote this as much for my own benefit as for anyone else.

Thanks Wayne

Having a system for prioritising helps me to set goals, even though in reality I am constantly re-prioritising because of changed situations, Alan

Thanks for sharing!

Your tips are doable. Most importantly for me is setting reminders that would alert me of my next goal.
