Just got a message from WA regarding renewing my domain and as far as I am concerned this was done automatically in the past, but now it appears not.

So it's a good job

It is if you opted in.

If you have it switched off, then no.

You can check your site domains.
https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/domains

I have just explained that it was set up to pay automatically since I joined in 2017 so someone (not me) has changed this.

Yep, I got that... Just in case.

Did you get to the bottom of it?

Sometimes if a credit card is expired it will get kicked back. Also under Site Domains you can make sure every one of them is a Green yes box.

But you would get a warning when it expires, right?

Oh yes, Lizzy. On your email feed. There will be at least three of them. I am letting 6 domains expire!

Jeff

The card has not expired Jeff.

Ah, I see.! Perhaps a glitch caused it to not auto renew then.

Jeff

it isn't?
Beware of scammers though, I have a website hosted here for a family member, and he got an email once to renew his domain, while it wasn't to be renewed for months to come, and he didn't believe me and almost fell for a scam! As far as I know, this goes automatically?
Lizzy

No, it is because I have never had to manually renew my domain but I have just checked the area within WA where this is done and the flag to automatically renew was set to no.

I just wonder what would have happened if I had just expected this to be done automatically and when the time came it wasn't updated.

Here take a look...

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/domains

1 - click on "settings" for this domain
2 - choose "renew"
3 - follow the instructions to renew your domain

So, for everyone who has their domain renewed automatically, you had better check this setting.

ok, thanks for the warning

Hey guys,

I have to decide whether to stay with AIOSEO or not and to stay will cost me $99 which is only for the basic membership and I'm really not sure of the benefits

Hey Mick,

It was pretty straight forward to switch over to Rank Math without deactivating or deleting AIOSEO... plus, Rank Math provided me with an option to also look forward to my redirect links, making it possible for me to simply say "yes" and Rank Math took care of all that.

Once I was done, my Google Analytics was connected, and AIOSEO and Redirection plugins were deactivated and ready to be deleted.

I had already removed Google Kit, but a users is using that plugin too, and installs Rank Math as their new SEO plugin, then Rank Math could possibly replace 3 plugins.

I'm still using Rank Math and loving it. In recently checking the quality of the SEO plugins, the new AIOSEO plugin is being rated pretty low.

Hope you find this helpful.

Yes, thanks Trish

Hi, Mick

I still use the free version of AIOSEO because it was pre-installed on my site when I created it.

Yes, Rank Math is very popular now and that would probably be my choice if I were to create a new site.

Frank 🎸

Thanks, Frank,

There are 5 memberships and I did upgrade for some reason which I can't remember now.

FREE, Basic, Plus, Pro and Elite

Mick

Thanks, Mick! 😎

Hi - I use Yoast, but only because I like the feature which shows you which posts have no internal links in them or pointing to them.

I don't pay attention to anything else that it claims to do.

i use the free version of AIOSEO don't like the SEO framework regardless if WA recommends it.

Also you don't need to upgrade they just want you to pay for things that are not worth the effort that is the main reason WA changed to SEO framework and you get constant requests from AIO to upgrade and take other plugins they suggest like Monster Insights which you don't need either.

Plus note that don't follow the rules any of these SEO plugins give, use them only as a guide they are not that accurate.

You can get 100/100 for just creating a title SEO plugins are just a tool to give you a guide, not a fact to abide by

I certainly wouldn't pay a cent for any SEO plugins, you are better using Google and people also ask and many of the other features which Partha mentions in many of his novels here as well

Andre

The basic AIOSEO is free and that's all you need.

None of the SEO plugins actually DO anything (except generate a sitemap). They just report some statistics.

You do not need to upgrade your AIO SEO or install MonsterInsights; the standard version suffices.

Also, it is not recommended to change SEO plugins so you do not mess up your SEO; however, go with a new plugin with a new website.

I currently use Rank Math Pro, but I am still learning it.

I thought that I'd created the new GA4 the other week but when I go into GA Universal I keep getting the message at the top of the screen to "complete GA4 setup"

Now whe

Hey Mick,

Your question made me follow through with the email I received from Google, because, like you, I thought my sites were all setup and ready to go.

As per usual, Google loves to confuse users... BIG TIME. Guess it makes them feel more important.

Anyway... after logging into my Google account, I got the same prompt you describe, so started clicking to "Complete GA4 setup".

The next page has another prompt (which they already covered in their email!) and when I looked down to the: "Google Analytics 4 Property Setup Assistant" it clearly shows Connected. See 1st screen print below...

When I clicked on the Go to your GA4 property button, it takes me back to here it says 0 / 7 marked complete. See 2nd screen print below...

So... you are not alone with your confusion. I surely am TOTALLY confused by Google... AGAIN, myself.

I've noticed that there are 3 settings marked Not Started (in the 2nd screen print) and when clicking on Google's "Learn more" link, I'm even more confuse, when visiting the 1st one... but the second one, Google needs permission now to collect data... so be sure to click on those "Not Started" links and read, so you can make your choices.

Hope this helps you.

Abie, the same issue that I had and all I did was select each option in turn and set them all to complete.

When I go back to GAU I still get the message at the top of the screen warning me that some settings may be automatically added even when I dismiss this message.

Indeed now I have updated those 7 options the message should not be showing or that's what I thought anyway.

I still get the countdown clock telling me how many days are left for GAU which I also thought wouldn't be showing.

Considering the GA4 has now been set up.

It would appear that Google just likes to play around with your head letting you think there is something else to do.

Cheers
Mick

I'm not Abie, but that's okay Mick... most users don't know how to determine a member's real name.

That's why I made the following video: Back to Google GA4
I didn't want to make some of the options completed as I do want to eventually run Google ads.

However, if Google continues in this vein, well... most of us will no longer be able to rely on Google for info we want to find online anymore.

...kinda' like some of us have been experiencing for a few years now.

No, I do believe there is more that Google requires completed before they activate the GA4 code. Perhaps they're afraid of another lawsuit... who know what Google's purpose truly is anymore.

I sure don't.

Sorry Trish

This is okay Mick.

I've used the wrong name on members too, so don't get me wrong. I'm a far cry from perfect.

I have just done this click on the > tab in the list and then click the complete button when your finished there is a RED TAB at the top right click on complete and its all done

Hey Guys, I just set them all to complete...

Thanks
Mick

You can tweak them at a later stage before the 1st of July and have them running similar to the old Google analytics. I’ve gone back into mine and had a little nose and it’s a slightly different format, but you can add the bounce rate, page views, etc.

Hi Mick, I’ve just been doing the exact same thing yesterday. Didn’t have a clue what it meant because I’ve had G4 set up for sometime now, but you can go through each of the elements and tweak them to how you wish.
Some were self-explanatory, others I have just marked as complete as I didn’t understand what I needed to do.
All it says is that if you don’t complete it, then Google will apply their own analytics.

Hi, Mick

You can go through each of those seven options and decide which you want to activate or skip. After you do that, the message will disappear.

Just went into Google Console to submit a post and have been met with a new screen.

Welcome to Google Search and 2 options I took the 2nd option and once I actually got

At the moment sorry NO.

It looks as if your property (website) has lost verification and your are being asked to re-verify it.

I have a fairly large number of properties on GSC and haven't run into this. Not yet anyway.

I have just sent a message to support as I have not come across this either.

I have this message now which I have attached

Very unusual, I do not remember seeing this. Perhaps we shall all be receiving this, it could be they are sending this gradually to users.

It would appear so, maybe?

Not sure just went to mine and seems the same. In fact, I submitted a new post bit earlier today and nothing was different.

Can you give a snapshot of what yours looks like?

Andre

I can't now because I took the 2nd option and eventually got into GSC but there is no data and when I try to add the post I want to submit it now says... "URL not in property"

I checked at my side, all the usual stuff.

When I enter the post to submit it now says "URL not in property"

Haven't a clue what's happening but I guess it will be sorted eventually.
