Have put in transfer code from Godaddy, and WA has accepted it and I made the domain payment
you have to own a domain for a minimum of 60 days befor you can transfer it ....
you can change the nameservers and host it at wa instead if you wish...
I did own it more than 60 days. But it was protected when I did the transfer - do you think that might have stopped the process?
you need to unlock it - then you can transfer it ....
the lock is there to prevent others stealing your domain...

Review your steps back with GoDaddy or reach out to their support and ask why it was stopped. And since it has passed the grace period of 60 days.
You also have the option to point your domain to WA servers instead. NEW Go Daddy DNS details to make it work:

Hi - click on your profile picture, go to Account Settings and Subscription. Click Cancel Billing.
Hi - we had some debate about this the other day. When I look at my account, I can't see my card details, but others have said they could see theirs. If any problems, go to wealthyaffiliate.com/contact and select the billing option.
Click your profile picture then account settings and then it's under subscription the second tab down
