Fear of Losing, Are you Free of It?

As usual I was listening to a podcast as I went for my daily run and, as usual I picked up another nugget.

I have been through a time where I lost almost everything but now on my way back. I thought I had nothing to lose and so the fear of losing was totally gone.

Not true, now I am building up my life and wealth again the thought hit me. I now have the fear of losing everything again.

My reaction to this realization was horror, this is a condition I thought I had beaten long ago. If I do not do something about this it is going to hold me back, stop me from achieving my goals and living the life I want for myself and my family.

At this point I am lost as to what to do, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I am extremely grateful to be with Wealthy Affiliates at this time.

Cheers Kev

HI Kev,

Believing in optimism is the most wonderful trick that will work, I hope. Its clear that all the people here wish to be successful. Concentrate on your goals. When that enters in to your sub-conscious mind, then you are on the right track. Never give up. Wish you very best for you!

Thank you Jesse, so much support here it is awesome. Really appreciate your suggestion. Cheers Kev

Hey My Friend, Just keep on keeping on. You were so quick to try
to help me out with my website and I want to let you know how much it was appreciated. Now that I find out that we are thousands of miles apart geographically, but only inches away from the keyboard (like being in the same room). I have sensed that you have the "IT" factor than can cause you to reach down deep inside and pull yourself UP! With the tremendous support here at WA, you have all the support in the world behind you - so just remember what they say about getting bucked off a horse.
"Get back in the saddle and Ride, Baby Ride"! YOU are the Man!
Your Pal,
Ken

Thanks Ken, the only time I was on a horse I got thrown.....hahaha. Get your meaning though.
Yes you are right WA is an awesome place to be through hard time, so much support.
Ken the offer is still there if you need help with your site.
Cheers kev

I sent a private msg. Let me know.
Ken

You're tough and I can see that. Since you asked for a suggestion, I'd like to know if, with your association in Facebook with those online money makers, are you also a member of the companies they were touting?

You know, those friends in Facebook who post screenshots of big earnings almost everyday. Some of them are friends of both of us. We're friends in Facebook and you probably know who and what companies they are....

I ask this because, there are indeed communities like Wealthy Affiliate where we can learn a lot of things without our pockets being sucked. But there are companies out there (and people out there) who show proof of earnings with the aim of hooking you up.

I suggest you stay away from them as most of them are money-suckers. Training and help they promise for hundreds or thousands of dollars, can be accessed right here at $47/month only.

I am focused on one community now, Wealthy Affiliates. I have spent years and thousands of dollars on different promises but none have come near what WA offers.
This is the best community online and I will proudly promote it to anyone.
Cheers and thanks for your comments Kev

Hi Kev, thoughtful post. The last thing you said turned your experience on its head. When the going is not good, what would you rather have instead? Then focus on that and it will chase away the pain of what went wrong. You are now on a right path. I see you in great success :)

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. Feeling much more positive with support for yourself and other WA members who have responded to my post. Actually I am humbled by the response. I almost didn't hit the submit button when I wrote the post because i was nervious about putting this out there, but I am very glad i did.
Cheers Kev

Kev, I think your last statement above is extremely important. STAY grateful for everything you have, and fear won't have a chance to enter your thoughts.

Fear will hold us back and drain our self-confidence. Instead of fearing loss, remember that you have what you have because you've earned it and you believed in yourself.

Stay confident and, have a wonderful day! :-)

-Lisa

Thank you Lisa, I am very grateful for everything i have experienced in life. Including failing, it has taught me so much. Be being in this community is the best place to be right now.
Thanks to all the response to my post I have a plan to beat this.
Cheers kev

Many years ago I read something about pain that I think can also apply to fear...
Don't try to ignore it and pretend it's not there, face it as a real thing. But remember to look at it as a real thing that you can manage. Instead of fighting pain (fear), acknowledge it, accept it, and move beyond it.

I have fear too, if that helps any. My first step is to ask myself if it is rational or irrational fear. Mines usually irrational ;-)

Best wishes Kev!

Yes I have been involved in personal development for many year and heard this many times. I will do affirmations, meditate and write a list of the reasons why I should fear this and why I shouldn't Thanks to you and everyone for their suggestions I am able to move forward with this. Thank you for your support. Cheers Kev

Your openess about fear shows strength of carachter.

Thank you, believe me it was not easy to click the submit button on this post. But i am glad I did. The response from this community has been incredible. Yours included of course. Again thank you for you support. Cheers Kev

I am going to give you the highest compliment that I give to anyone...
You are genuine and real.

Thank you, I appreciate your compliment. Cheers Kev

The key IMHO is to "Lose Attachment" to things, money, people, and EVERYTHING. This does not mean that you do not have feelings it only means that you WILL lose the fear of loss if you are not attached.

It does work, but it takes some practice. When finally accomplished it makes a HUGE difference in the way you face challenges and problems.

Have a great Sunday Kev,

Steve

Thanks Steve, I understand the attachment to things concept. I know what I have learned and the experience I have will never be lost. For me it is not about pocessions, it is about experiencing that feeling again. Feeling of being at the bottom and powerless to do anything.
I have no doubt I can be successful again. I have done it before, but I did fail. I can do both again.
Anyways thanks to you and all who have answer my call for help, I am feeling more confident. I have a plan to overcome this now.
Cheers Kev

And you WILL overcome this Kev. Of course, it is always easier for the person not going through the challenge to make that statement I know. But, as you said, you have done it before, and you can do it again. Perhaps this time with more than half a million friends "rooting for you" and there to help......it will be easier to come back this time.

Sending positive vibrations your way,

All the best, Steve

Thanks again Steve. Cheers Kev

Hi Kev,

"People were talking about how she made $5,000 for 5 minutes. Not True. She spent 3 years building her brand on Tribe.

This is a perfect example of the reason you should concentrate on building your brand. Giving to your readers without expecting anything in return. One day you will reap the benefits."

or this one

"As you can see by the screenshot above, I have two of my blog posts listed on the first page of Google at 3rd and 4th. These are both from my G+ site.

Never underestimate the power of social media, especially Google sites."

Do these sound vaguely familiar to you? They should, you wrote them. As you can see, you are successful already. Fails are just a stepping stone to another success. The only thing you should fear is giving up. Just don't do it and you have nothing to fear.

Remember, though, it takes patience, persistence, and positivity

Have a great Sunday!

Thank you Lisa, lost me for bit there when I was reading my own posts lol. I appreciate your support. Your comment helped me realize what I have done so far. Cheers Kev

That was the point. You have had successes so far. Don't forget how long that nail art person worked to get where she is.

You CAN and WILL do it! I have confidence in you.

Thanks Lisa for you confidence in me. Appreciate your Support. Cheers Kev

I have several suggestions, or rather, books and blogs for you.
On my site, I just happened to have listed just your fright. Because you know what, everyone fears something. and like JudeP stated, Fear is not real.
By the way, don't fear failure. Love it. There is a lot to learn from failures. Visit my site at this address: http://httpcollege-students-need-money.com/658-2

and a prior blogs that I put up: and By the way, did you know that when you fail you are part of a distinguished group of people? Only people who succeed, fail.

Need proof? Got some here for you:
Thomas Edison - took him 1002 tries at least before he got the formula for the light bulb correct.

Michael Jordan - was booted off his high school baskeball team as a looser.

Colonel Sanders - Maker of KFC - could not get his business off the ground and could not get enough income and was told that he was a loser untill he was 65 years old when he founded the famous KFC.

Oprah Winfray - Was told that she was too bad for television.

Grandma Moses - famous painter - did not do her first painting till she was in her 70's. Before that she was a total failure.

You said you failed? Well, you are amongst the best. Don't fear it, Rejoice in it. Learn from it. Get excited because you are one of the best. Yes, to succeed you must fail. So you might as well go ahead and accept it.

By the way, if you need more proof after you do all the reading, let me know. I have a whole list of people you can read about. All failures before they succeeded. Up to and including Donald Trump.

So my friend, you will succeed! Just don't give up! See you at the top!

Thank you for your words, really inspired me to keep going. Cheers Kev

Fear is not real Kev - remember it stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. This is more to do with your attitude towards it. Try to take a step back and be grateful for what you do have - after all, you've worked hard for it and you deserve what you do have.

What makes you think you may lose it all? Make a list of your fears and try to work out whether they are real and concrete, or in your mind. If they are in your mind, cross them off the list and take a look at what's left.

Can you take action to change what's still on the list? Are they things which are under your control? If they're not in your control, cross them off.

Now what's left?

Let me know how you get on. Feel free to PM me. :)

Thank you Jude, I will make a list. Perhaps this will make it clearer, at this stage I can't identify anything that would make me feel this way. It is just a feeling I don't seem to be able to control.
Appreciate your help.
Cheers Kev
