It was a beautiful, sunny and warm day out, so I had to get outside. I picked up all the fallen tree limbs out in the yard as it’s about time to mow.
While looking over the yard and all the fallen limbs lying around, I thougth of Wealthy Affiliate, and how many of us need to do some spring cleaning on our websites as well.
For those who have just started, there really isn’t much to worry about. For those who have been here for a while though and have multiple websites, now is a good time to go through them, and repair any broken links, and update any posts or pages that could stand to be refreshed.
A few months ago, I came across a website and was very interested in a particular product. When I tried to click on the link, it was broken. It turns out that the website that I found this on was owned by a successful WA member.
I can be rather timid at times, and I am such a newbie here that I didn’t feel comfortable letting this person know, so I didn’t. But if I clicked on it, how many others have come across that same website and clicked on the same link only to find that it led to nowhere? How many sales did this member lose because of this?
I know that this member is successful in here, but are any of us in here so successful that they’re comfortable with losing money because of a broken link?
Spring cleaning isn’t just about getting the cobwebs out of the corners of the house, or picking up the sticks in the yard, but cleaning up or websites.
Fix a broken link, update an old post, eliminate any links or ads that no longer work. Take a day just to go through your sites and clean up and repair what needs to be fixed.
I think you’d be surprised at what you could generate from that cleaning.
