9 Months on Wealthy Affiliate, Refocus and a 90 Day Plan
I have taken some time out in the last few days to get clear about where I am at and where I am not at.
Firstly a personal view of this moment in time: The next 3 to 5 years are a "Golden Era" there will be massive growth in online business and significant declines in many offline businesses. If there was ever a time to get focused and smash it out then it is now. There is also no question about "will it work for me?", the only question is "will you work for it?". Are you willing to try (with your whole heart and soul) and fail, then review what you did, then make changes, then try again and follow that cycle through to SUCCESS.
I have been at WA for 9 months now and I am starting to get an idea of what I am doing. So time to get a serious plan in place.
Where I started:
- We (Hesti and I) already had the Local Business - Fitness Niche
- I had no clue about what other niche I would market to
- I could not come to terms with WordPress and did not understand how to get a reasonable site operating
Process:
- I started the certificate and was "niche challenged". I then swapped to boot camp and gradually realised that style of process of promoting WA was not for me. Yes I do want to want to promote WA but that is another topic.
- WordPress drove me insane .. I started with Hiero and hated it. I then went to Iconic One, which was better but not really the "niceness" I wanted.
- Writing content was a major challenge .. I am better talking than writing. This has really stressed me out.
- I put a priority on WA emails for: 1) Contribution and Community Support. 2) Learning .. the later reason in one of the best decisions I have made.
- I looked for mentors .. everyone in WA is great but I also found a couple outside of WA.
- I tested and tried lots of stuff and swapped Niches more than once.
- I continued focusing on promoting our Local Business - Fitness Niche, mostly via Social Media.
- I committed to acquiring a high level of Facebook knowledge.
Where I have arrive:
- I have finally found themes I could work with.
- I have the Niches I can work with
- I have successfully created an opt-in system with mail lists and downloads
- One of the Niches I find I have no problem written content for .. I can just smash it out really easily. I know everyone says "find a Niche you are passionate about". Well I don't really have much I am passionate about and if you asked me 12 months ago this one was not even on the radar .. twelve months is a long time in the online world!
- WA Rank in the high 30's. Actually it was easy getting to the Top 50. What I have learned is that constant input on WA has raised my Rank (who would have thought! LOL) .. and the SAME happens with your website and niche if you put the effort in .. your Google Rank improves, your traffic increases, you start to be "recognised".
- And everyday is a reconfirmation that: 1) WA has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. 2) Hesti is the Worlds Best Wife/Partner.
90 Day Plan April to June 2017
I have designed a 90 day plan to smash this out now that I have a better understanding of what I am doing. I have already working on it since April 1. There is urgency and there is focus. These businesses are priorities .. or as Tony Robbins says, they are MUSTS.
I will not go through the whole plan .. suffice to say it is just CRAZY!
And there is a "cost" when you make commitments .. there are things to give up.
One of the "costs" will be my interaction on Wealthy Affiliate .. I apologise in advance to everybody. I will not be reading as much email or posting as much (not that it is huge anyway). My Rank will drop, hopefully I will be able to maintain Top 100 but if not then Top 200 .. or really any place on Wealthy Affiliate is a great place to be.

One of the best posts, Ever. I really admire your resolve and making your 90 day plan. Amd when that 90 days is up, I hope you have another 90 day plan in place to keep your business growing.

I like your reasoning and adaptability, William...This is what it takes to reach goals...
Every plan needs to be tweaked because as you learn more you realize that the decisions you made at the start were ones made when you were less informed...
Quite naturally, as you grow in experience and book knowledge, you see that there may be better ways to do things or things that you thought were OK that are not...
I go through this process regularly and adjust fire as we used to say in the military. It keeps you moving forward faster with the same effort, or as it sounds like you are doing, you can figure out ways to speed up the process...

Great post, William. Looks like you've made amazing progress. If I can say the same about my own progress after 9 months, I'll be a happy man. I know your 90 day plan will work because you will make it work and you will enjoy much deserved success.

Good afternoon William,
Good that you have this goal in front of you and you do not let anything distract you. This ranking I personally am not too fond of as it takes out a lot of time, on the other hand, the interacting with people all over the world is nice and when needed you can expect a helping hand. You have learned so much in a short time, chapeau, I feel still ever so green perhaps as spring is here I might start changing my color ever so lightly.Wish you all the best and regards to Hesti.
