What do you do when an international company uses your dot com name and its plastered all over Facebook? What do you do when they are using the same business model too?

Unless one of you have "remarkable oils" trademarked, there's nothing neither of you can do about it.

Who registered the domain first.

What does whois show

Thats the starting point

Hi Dave
The domain name is mine I registered it.
They do not use essentialoils .com they use their own website name forward slash essential oils. The issue fir me also is they use this all over social media so if I promote over social media as the regressed domain will the social media sites accept me as the legal owner of the name or them? If you just put in remarkableoils in the search bar it goes straight to their site.
I can’t see it myself or everyone would use their own website name forward slash wealthy affiliate.
Regards

I cant answer as I don't know the legalities of it.

However your website is sound and the FB page is in Australia.

I have just done a search based on remarkable oils and it is very apparent that you are two separate entities.

Your site is quite different and stands alone quite separate from them. Their website is not called remarkable oils and is very different to yours.

The only clash appears to be Facebook.

Kind Regards
Mike

Hi Mike while I understand your reasoning the company uses “remarkableoils” for all their contacts on their website.
They also use this for Instagram Messenger Twitter Pintrest google and Facebook so that’s nearly all the social media available using my dot com so that’s six clashes so far and if someone puts in remarkable oils in their search bar this is what comes up.
Regards

I am not sure the best way to deal with this as I don't have the experience.

I did a search on Remarkable Oils.

Your site was first, their FB page was second.

The next results were all a mix up of the two words.
Have you done any social media work yet?

Mike

So if you use the name first without registering You don’t have to do anything? It’s fine to do this yet we are all told to register your name or trading name for protection. How if they didn’t register it?
Your answer is unhelpful. Would I have got away using the name “Macdonolds” because I was using it first in the UK? I doubt this very much.
I’ve spent the last 15 weeks doing research and writing content locked away in my office and now this?
Understand if I feel pissed off and your answer is of no help.
Regards

Hi - is this your Remarkable Oils website? The Facebook page has been in existence since September 2017, and the company that owns it has been around since 2008. I guess you could say they have every right to use the name, as it pre-dates your site.

Why has this question posted bought me to this link instead of the normath pathway to reply?

You'll be redirected to the classrooms when the question is deleted

Thank you for the information and education

Perhaps the question has been deleted in the meantime...🤔

Which question? What link are you referring to?

This question has brought you here because this is where we put the answers to your question.

No Dale I was trying to answer a question from someone else where an e mail had been posted with a question. I pressed the link to answer it but the link bought me to the classroom site instead. I was just wondering if this was just a bad link or the link was wrong. Either way I cannot offer an answer to the question posed.
Regards
Steve

No it'll be the right link - the links reference something called "bookmarks" so basically it links to the classroom, then should jump to the bookmark (the position on the page where the question has been asked).

Sometimes if the page takes a while to load you may not be automatically taken down to the question, but if you scroll down below the classroom the question will be the first one at the top and will be in a different colour :)

...(or it could have just been deleted)

Same thing happened to me - received an email and clicked on the link and it brought me here. I don't see the person's question Just wanted you to know that you're not the only one this happened to. Being new I'm not sure why but maybe the question was deleted like someone suggested.

Happy to find someone who knows what I'm talking about.

Hi trying to complete training but my "offer feedback" tells me there are no sites to offer feed back on and the request feed back says you have to offer 2 reviews first. A bit

Hi thank you :)

Hi Steven, you could also always PM me your site for feedback. :)

Hi thank you :)

Thank you Michael like all the answers here honest to the point and usable information
Regards
Steve

Hi Steve, can't top the answers to got. It is a good idea to follow Diane' suggestion too. I always gives me a better idea of how to improve on my site,
All the best,
Michael

There is a section in the website area where you can get to both Site Comments and Site Feedback. Go to the Feedback area and click the offer feedback tab at the top.

You stand a better chance of getting a website to offer feedback here than elsewhere.

Hope this helps.

Edwin

thank you Edwin much appreciated
