The power of SEO
Life can certainly throw curve balls at you. I've been busy, and honestly haven't been making the time I should have for WA and my website.
However, that's all about to change! I'm ready to get my butt back in gear! I'm more motivated than ever, and here's why.
In my absence, my website has been taking off--no work required. Now don't get me wrong, I spent 2 months straight working on my site, however in the last 5 weeks I've merely written 1 article for my site (I could use my busy schedule as an excuse, but honestly it's not--I just haven't been focused on the task) BUT:
I know google analytics isn't 100% accurate, but it is a general indicator of website activity. This graph just shows the past month alone--the time I have spent away from my site. Over 1,000 hits isn't bad. SEO does work!
Google Webmaster Tools shows me ranked 1st page for literally 100 keywords! (Most of which were unintentional)
GWT graph for the past month. Clicks have risen by 300%!
This traffic has lead me to making many sales as well! :)
Now I need to use this positive feedback to motivate me. The traffic is there, now it's all up to my willingness to keep at it.
I really wanted to post this for the newbies out there who are just starting out, or maybe have been working at this for awhile but aren't seeing any tangible results. Just keep following the training-- it WORKS! It doesn't happen overnight, but keep at it and you will eventually be rewarded.

'Pat on back' "WendyJane!" Good feeling, isn't it? It should be self-sustainable from now, unless a competitor kicks you out. But, you have the traffic for SEO, plus hopefully some shares and low bounce rate (if the content is good/helpful), and that all should equal passive income!!! This is what it's about...PASSIVE income.

Replying late here, but yes, passive income is great! Since I posted this it has taken off like crazy. i've been working more on it, and I made a decent part-time income last month!
Yeah, once the ball gets rolling, it's pretty much hands free.
Do you have a lot of content on the site? Are you monetizing with a product "ad" in the side bar? Or, does each page have it's own product promotion?
Great to hear what's working for you as I think others might want to emulate your strategy.

I do have product ad in the sidebar, but I have quite a bit of content on my site now. Each one of my blog posts has product promotions, too. I think that's where I'm making most of my money. (I have adsense but it's almost not worth bothering with anymore as I'm making no money from that compared to my affiliate links).
Gotta love that graph. Congratulations. Yup, this stuff does work. Glad it is doing so for you. Can you imagine where you would be if you hadn't taken a break? Now that you have renewed motivation take Mary's advice. Congratulations again.
