I can't make decisions

I wish I didn't have an extremely indecisive personality. I'm still really new to this all. I've started a site to follow along with the training (just the basic framework--not much actual content) but I'm thinking I need to rethink my niche. The training Kyle and Carson give you advise you not to spend too much time picking your niche and say that you should have a solid idea within a few minutes...but personally, I don't think I could do that. If i'm going to dedicate so much time to creating a website and writing content for my site, it needs to be something I am truly dedicated to. So if that means spending a little extra time thinking of a niche that's good for me, then I don't see anything wrong with that. I just need to start slow and soak up all the information I can at my own pace. I know I will find a niche that is right for me soon.

I have really obtained some good information from reading your blogs, slowly each piece moves into place and a light bulb comes on. thank you

Awesome. I just like to write an honest perspective, it's great you find it helpful.

Indecisive? You should see me trying to decide to buy anything when there's more than one color, and toothpaste, there must be 30 different kinds of toothpaste out there. Free enterpise is great, but it makes me nuts sometimes. I think everyone has advice on finding a niche and training, and how to go about both. I'm like you, and really have to think about it. I didn't know what niche to pick the first time, so just jumped in there, and I was really sorry afterward, but then I was stuck with it. I think it had something to do with me quitting the first time, among other things. So many people say to just jump in there, but it's just not my way of doing anything, so this time I've decided to take my time with everything, training, niche, everything. It may take longer, but I'm more inclined to learn and stick with it, but that's me. This is a totally new learning experience, so baby steps. I may not get there as fast, but I'll get there. We're all different people, so I think we go about things differetly, and I just don't see how what works for one will always work for someone else, so I'm doing it my way, which is slowly. Anyway, you'll figure out what's best for you. Good luck.

Kiya I agree with you 100% !! They do tell you to just jump into a niche after 5 minutes of thinking, and I'm like wait...I don't think you people understand my personality. I cannot make decisions about anything-- I can stand in front of the coolers at gas stations for 10 minutes trying to figure how what I want to drink! Lol. I really took my time to decide my niche and I'm glad--the original niche ideas I had weren't as good and I didn't feel as confident about them.
But yeah, I am going about this slowly as well. if that is what works then I don't see a problem with it.

Good for you. Ha, I do the same thing, and will stand there looking at drinks, for fear that I'll leave and wish I would have got something else, I mean, really, who cares? Unfortunately, I make an issue out of these things sometimes, but I end up with what I want, so what's the problem? I'm kind of a perfectionist, sounds like you are too, which makes things much harder, and takes longer, but I also think they come out better in the end, I hope. It's a theory anyway. Anyway, good luck to you.

Hi Wendy:
Nice to "meet" you.

First of all, I've learned never to use the phrase "I can't...." b/c that stops your brain from looking for solutions.

Reword that to "How Can I (start making decisions...) and your brain will search for answers.

I know how you feel because I'm pretty indecisive myself sometimes (except when I get a boost of testosterone during a workout, but that's a different story).

You could do one of 2 things to help you decide your niche:

1. You could ask someone you trust and one who knows you, what niche should you choose. It must be something they think you are good at and would take your advice on. However, I find that sometimes this is something I don't REALLY enjoy doing....which leads me to my next option.

2. What kind of stuff do you find yourself researching or WILLFULLY spending a lot of time on? That is your natural "work" and will keep you in the game long enough to see results. I would go as far as to say, like Kyle and Carson mention in the tutorials, that you MUST pick something you LOVE and are practically "addicted" to, or curious about knowing the latest on. Then, and only then, will this be fun and not "work."

And, just remember, you can ALWAYS abort this niche if you feel it was the "wrong" choice.

Let us know what you choose. I am interested in knowing what you are interested in.

See you around,
Charlie

Thank you Charlie for the helpful advice!! I have since decided on a niche and am working on building my website. : ) I've also discovered Squidoo and Hubpages which seem cool but I haven't done anything with those yet!

Great job, Wendy! Hope you enjoy your journey. That is the a big part of the fun.

No race here. Take all the time you need to let everything sink in.

I think once you do more training, you'll have more ideas come. Really, it's more important that you get through the training, and see the 'big picture', before you dig in deep. Even if you end up keeping your niche, you may want to move your site to a .com instead of siterubix, or rethink your marketing strategy.

Pausing for a moment to get a clear picture is a good idea, just don't pause too long, because that turns into procrastination.

thanks!

yeah, i'm all too familiar with procrastination... :/

If you are working on a site and have something to target so that you can learn the methods, you have made a decision. The nice thing about learning this stuff is that there are many ways to come at this.
Niche Research doesn't have to be difficult. Look around your room and you will find many products that could be promoted online each of these could become a profitable niche.
It is true that you need to know the process so don't second guess yourself. Proceed at your own pace and you will get there.
