I learned about Affiliate Marketing several years ago from daughter in-law who was setting up her own on-line business. I was 'astounded' to learn that when people clicked on a link on her website that she would be earning money. She told me about Commission Junction and Amazon's affiliate program but she was developing a ecommerce site and selling physical products and I didn't want to buy wholesale and store products and ship them out. But the idea of making money with affiliate products has gotten my imagination and the idea of earning money through affiliate marketing continues to keep me searching and looking for a way to bring all the pieces together.

Rabbit Trails

Let's face it, there are too many ways to count, to lose your way and your money, on the internet, especially if you are an information junkie, like me. One good thing leads to another and another and the information 'pimps' are always plying there wares and using the latest NLP tricks and marketing traps to get you to purchase yet another 'must have' product to add to your hard drive and contribute to a bad case of information overload. Sad truth is the number of free ebooks I've downloaded with affiliate links will probably never be read. Time is passing and if the time and money spent isn't going to become a bottom less pit it's time to find out who you can trust and focus on the outcome you want and buckle down and do the work necessary to make the time and money spent a true investment that yields a good return.

Fractals

Fractals are interesting objects and something I came across during one of my rabbit trails. I actually learned about fractals while reading a book on leadership entitled Leadership and the New Science: Discovering Order in a Chaotic World by Margaret Wheatley. In this book she talks about how discoveries in quantum physics and chaos theory,etc. relate to a new understanding of leadership and organizations. It was there I began to learn about fractals and how what at first may seem to be random patterns begin to take shape and form something beautiful. It was discovered that this is the way nature is ordered. So what do fractals have to do with affiliate marketing you may be asking? Fractals give me hope. Hope that the many rabbit trails I've been down and random purchases I've made and websites that I've set up, that haven't earned me any income, can somehow take what seems like random chaos and begin to make sense of it all and become something profitable and ultimately become a business that I can be proud of that will support myself, my family and ministries that I want to support.
