It’s not the What it’s the Why thats Important in Life

Well it’s the month of September already and what a whirlwind, what a strange year it has been for us all. In 2020, so far, we have been faced with some of the biggest crisis ever. From Covid 19, world poverty and hunger, unemployment, medical institutions imploding, the effects of Climate Change, awful leadership from our Governments and yet we are expected to just get on with life, as if nothing ever happened. I really can't believe it's September already! What a whirlwind of a year it's been for all of us.

However the most important question I've asked myself over the past few months is simply WHY? It is simply impossible for us to come up with the why’s for the above, so I then concentrated on some of the why’s in my own life such as

Why should I work 12-16 hours a day to create a new mentoring business?

Why should I network and create new opportunities with people I've never met before?

Why should I intermittent fast and lose 10 pounds?

Why should I strive to be better?

Why should I spend more time with my family?

These are some of the most important why’s and I am sure you will think of many more and if you know your why's, in your life then everything else becomes much, much easier. You'll find yourself jumping out of bed ready to attack your day with positivity and energy. Everyone's why's are different.

Some people do things for joy, satisfaction, or maybe the journey. Other people do things for wealth, the legacy or maybe for others. BUT you MUST know your why's.

Some of your why’s will be things you do to be in alignment with your values and beliefs…

Some of your why’s will be to establish your own identity…..

Some of your why’s will be self-building in confidence, inner strength and courage…..

Some of your why’s will be driven by financial and physical and mental health…..

Some of your why’s will be to find focus and direction…..

Today put some deep thought into your why's. Grab a piece of paper right now and write down numerous times:

Why should.........(fill in the blank).

If you detail your why's on everything you are doing you will be clear on your purpose, results will follow and you will feel valued, both professionally and personally.

The 2 books I am reading right now:

Strat with Why………Simon Sinek

Unshakable……..Tony Robinson

(and don’t ask me why, just yet)

Thanks. This made me think a bit. Most of my why for everything I do is simple. It all boils down to, "I do because I can". I write because writing was the first thing I was ever told I was good at. Therefore, I do because I can. I work with computers because once I realized I was good with computers despite a learning disability with math and I enjoy it. Therefore, I do because I can.
I am a creator and the scary thing is that, when I deny my creativity for too long, my subconscious pushes my creative side at me in my dreams. Creativity is both a curse and gift.

Good job!

If we are talking online in a lot of instances we can over think the why.

I think many do.

If we can drift back to the original thoughts, in our naively created ideas and expectations the purpose was to create new life outcomes.

Once the connection is made; we become the creators and promoters of Why in all who we meet and in those that consume our content.

So agree, Trevor. That why becomes purpose becomes successful results.

Thanks for sharing those books
Alex

Thanks greatly inspirational.

I agree Trevor, the why is an important part of why we do this and keep going when things go wrong.
My main why is the challenge.

Thanks Linda and in relation to your main why challenge ask yourself if you had 24 hours left in this world how would you spend them. Then drill down into these and see which ones are really important and you start to find the main why
Trevor

I would still be doing exactly what I am doing.
I did all that and had all the usual reasons, family, more money etc. But it all boiled down to wanting and needing a new challenge.

That's your why then....well done
Trevor
