Hi there, I have published a post but added a couple of affiliate links afterwards. I also changed a bit of wording. Even though I clicked on update, the changes don't appear in the post. I can see them when I preview but not on my actual site.
Does anyone have an idea? I am using the spacious theme.
i am grateful for any suggestions.
Best, Anke

Hi Dennis, I asked site support but they can only answer hosting related issues . So, no luck there either!

I can see the links now! Congratulations!
what did you do?

I only changed my menu a little bit. And afterwards, I checked my links and they were working! Really weird! If think my theme is a bit temperamental. I had issues before when I deleted widgets and it took ages till they disappeared from my site.

If you use Chrome, that is the reason why. Chrome doesn't show the banners created with code, but other browsers do. So you might want to set 2 types of linking to have people see your link even if they use Chrome (and many people use it)

I never heard that about chrome before. I use chrome and thought it was suggested. I went and checked some of my links, banners seem to be working?

So whenev er you use banners and don't see them appear you need to check with different browsers. It is a little unfortunate, as many people use chrome.... and adblock, too! (I do, lol)

Hi Marion, Thanks for your help. Here is the link to my post I have trouble with:

In this particular post should be two affiliate links leading to klook.com. I updated my post a few times but they don't show. I wonder if it has something to do with my theme?

Thanks again, Anke

Are you linking text or images? If it's text tell me the words that you used for the link. If it's an image then tell me which image.

Hi Marion, I added screenshots in reply to judebanks answer.
Maybe you could have a look at them?
Thanks, Anke

Did you click on the Update button? There's some text missing as well as the links.

Yes, I clicked the update button so many times. I don't know why the text is missing and the links. I never had this problem before. I tried on different days as well because I thought there is a glitch in the system.

Anke, which link is it. I had a quick look at your site and the links I saw there are working. Great site, by the way.

Can you point me to the problem link?

There should be two links both leading to klook.com. But I can only see them when I look at the preview. Not when I view the very same post on my site. The links are quite vital because it will help visitors to get discounted tickets to the theme park.
Thanks again from Anke

Anke, like Marion, I cannot see it, probably because it is not there. Very good article- I enjoyed reading it.

It could be something as simple as an extra space or character or a typo in the link code.

Exactly where in the text are you trying to add the link - what are the anchor words, or is it an image or graphic?

It would be helpful if you could take a screenshot of the Preview window and attach it to your reply here. Maybe I or someone else can spot the error. ~Jude

You can see the affiliate ID number in your browser address bar when you click on the image on the web. See first screenshot below.

Go to your affiliate account at Klook to check if the affiliate numbers after the "?=" symbol are in fact your affiliate ID numbers.

I cannot see the text anchor link to Klook dot come under your signature but I do see it in the source code of your site.

I see an ad ID number "837" - don't know if that is just an ad number or your affiliate ID. It usually comes after the "?" symbol at the end of the URL (/?aid="xxxxxxx).

Check your Klook account to see what your affiliate number is supposed to be for the main Klook affiliate page.

For a text anchor link to show on your site the process is:

1. type the text into the editor where you want it to appear
(e.g. Klook com),
2. highlight the text
3. select the link chain button in the WP editor
4. add the URL into the link field that pops up.
5. click the gear symbol and in the little that opens, select 'open link in new window'.

Hi Jude, thank you so much for your help. For some unknown reasons my banners showing up on my site now. I only reorganized my main menu. And when I checked my post again the banners showed. I think it has to do with my theme. I might have to change the theme at some stage. I am a bit reluctant to do so because of links etc.
