I am looking to transfer my older sites across to WA hosting, any one with info about the best way to do this would be great. Thanks

First... WA allows you to transfer domains here . Or either. You can Google best WP plugins for back-ups as well.

Hope they help :)

i still use wpclone for backups and have cloned sites in the past. but it maybe out of date now.

Thanks Phil, Yes I had thought about the export function, just seeing what everyone suggests and has used before. I try and move them.

good luck - try importing to a test site and see what is there- get rid of any unused themes, plugins clutter before moving
have fun

WP Clone is no longer available at wordpress.org so we can't install it at the new host 😢

Tools > Export only backs up the words, not the plugins, themes or media library 😢

But Updraft Plus works a treat 😎

updraft is size limited ?
wpclone is still listed but shows not tested after 4.7.12

The size limits for Updraft Plus are only due to the methods of storage. I back up to the server daily and download and save the files on my computer. I've had success restoring a website of approx. 2 GB but I haven't tried with anything bigger than that.

It's good to know that WP Clone is back in the respository. It thought it was lost forever.

Good thinking. I've downloaded the plugin and saved it on my computer just in case it gets removed from the repository again.

Assuming that your old sites are using Word Press, you could use the "All-in-One WP Migration" WP plugin. If you enter in "All-in-One WP Migration" in the WA search bar, you find out what other WA members think. One possible "but" is the size of the website. And the other possible "but" is that you can not see what the tool is doing behind the scenes if you are looking for what it does.

For moving "small" WP based web sites it does the job or it did the job for me when I used it for this purpose.

Thanks David, all three sites are not too large so sounds like a good possible solution.

I just found the WA blog that pointed me to this WP plugin in the first place: There is some additional information there which you may find useful. Good luck.
