Dear Community,

I messed things totally up and need your help.

I froze my membership at WA for a while and wanted to switch to another cheaper hosting only, for the period I am not active here at WA. Thinkgs did not go well, so I went back to WA and trying to restore my website now, without success. Although I changed the name server back to the WA one, although I am with the support for a day now, cleared cache and all the support suggested, my website is still not loading for me and the error it provides - Page can not be found - appears with the logo of the other hosting provider. The WA support says I shall also try a different ISP network, I did it - nothing helps. But the support can see my website and confrms it is all fine with it. It is only me who can not access it.

Could anyone have any idea what more to do to solve this?

Thanks a lot for your help, as ususal.

Aleks

Hi jghwebbrand, can not access the WordPress backoffice at all, that's part of the issue, since other friends here at WA confirmed with print screns they access the website.
Tried other browsers, no result.
Thank you so much for trying to help as well, much, much appreciated :-)

All the best,

Aleks

If you changed the name servers it can take 1-2 days to filter to all the DNS servers for proper routing to the new host. Has it been at least 48 hours?

I'm a computer GEEK so I would also suggest you test with Google DNS on your computer which should get updated before your local ISP. The link below will have instructions to edit your network settings to use Google DNS along with the DNS IPs. Print/Save the instructions first so you can change it back if you have any issues.
https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns

If you msg me the domain name I would also be more than willing to see if its working from the US yet.

Best,
Josh

Josh, thanks a lot for your kind support, too. I will give it a time to read and update the network settings and will get back to you then with the result. DNS checkers say it is all fine, less than 24 hours passed from the update. Personal message with the domain name shall be in your inbox now :-) Thanks, this is too kind. I still keep the website a secret from friends since it is a first and naive try...still lots of work put in it, would be a disaster to loose it all...

Hi

How about trying to open in a different browser or incognito. Or mobile device.

Do you have any software on your PC or browser denying access?

Do you mind giving us the domain, to see if we can access it?

Hi AbieAJ,

Nice to hear from you again :-)
Yes, I tried both from mobile devices and incognito.
No software to deny accesses.

You can also empty servers cache.
Websites > Site Manager > Details > Sitespeed > Empty site cache

And see if you can.

if you do not want to share you domain in public, you may PM see if I can access it.

Or you may know people you can ask them if they can.

Also try rebooting your router, unplug modem and router wait 10 seconds and plug it again.

Also if site support can confirm seeing it, it is only from your end nothing to do with the DNS.

And welcome back :)

AbieAJ, deleted the cache also the way you described. Will reboot the rooter as well and will let you know if it changed something later today. You are all too kind - personal message with the domain sent to you, too, to try - I keep it still a secret from friends, since it is a first and a bit of a naive try, but lots of work put in it, which I do not want to lose.

I can access it :) And it is hosted on WA servers.

So I believe something local at your end that is stopping you from seeing it.

It could be many things. Possibly broadband modem, router because you said, you cannot access it anywhere.

Can you browse the net?

AbieAJ, thanks a million. I will try the rooter reset as you suggested, I can browse normally, yes. Will get back in a few hours. Strange is that I could not access it also from my smartphone and mobile provider - totally different ISP if I understand it correctly....will get back in a few hours from now once I try all the suggested by you and Josh :)

No worries let us know how you get on, hopefully you'd be able to.

However we'd figure something moving forward.

You're very welcome.
