Hello everyone HAPPY Friday, hope everyone is having a great week as we are about to enter the weekend. I have a question for you. I have been using Pixaby for a while now but what I have heard is that even there free photos are not free.

Someone here at the community was saying that the photos though free are free for a certain time and after that time is over you can get sued for those seem photos.

I have just recently signup with Unsplash where it's said that all of the photos are free. Have any of you heard of Unsplash or using it. Thanks so much for your help and all the best of success!

I use pixabay, stocksnap and unslpash. For stocksnap there is a star on the left upper corner of the pictures that they sell and cannot be downloaded for free. For unsplash they will usually say sponsored and those ones you cannot use for free. Those pictures are usually the first ones you see and the free ones are below them. I just spent 3 days going through and correcting all my images so as not to get sued. You just have to be careful and pay attention to which ones are sponsored or for sale and which are not. If you start a trial and the time is up, they will prompt you to buy. Also, make sure you credit the photographer in your caption.

Hey happy Friday to you as well, I used Unsplash a few times well, but never sign up, but I now do my own graphics, love to see some of the answers you'll be receiving.

There is a little further information here: But in summary, it is very rare that you will find “Copyright Free” images, but instead, you will find “Royalty Free” images.

As Phil mentions, as long as they are not used for commercial purposes, you are usually ok. But you should always check the license that is issued with each and every image you use.

Their user agreement states they are free to use as along as you "don't sell them for commercial use" or "change them". Blogs are fine. They should be clear on the ones they charge for and you would have to have a credit card on file anyway to download those. If anyone complains seek forgiveness and change the photo. They encourage attribution thats all. Double check the agreement but I think you are fine.
