Me again! Someone pointed out last night which I hadn't thought if before moving my site with content across from GoDaddy, to check the theme was supported. It appears it is not. I remember it was one my friend paid for so that's maybe why? I am guessing I am best to try and change the theme whilst it is still at GoDaddy before moving it across, right?

Thanks for your help guys. I have to go to work today so don't have time to start trying again right now but when I do, I will have a good read of all your comments. They are all appreciated. Cause my friend set up the Isabelle theme, not sure what she did. Just know she used it cause she had already bought it and used previously on her own site.

I've checked and that theme is a premium paid theme. I believe that would be supported at WA. (Note: It is not supported at WordPress dot com, which is the free hosting service. However, WA uses WordPress dot org, which is the self-hosting service).

If you already have that theme installed on your website at GoDaddy, let WA Hosting know you are using that Premium theme and they will transfer your website hosting to WA accordingly.

In the meantime, do as Marion advises: Create a SiteRubix site. You can put any theme on it for now and play around as much as you like.

Then follow what WA Hosting advises (don't change the DNS address until they tell you to). When your site from GoDaddy is moved here, it will bring the theme you currently have with it. ~Jude

P.S. Marion mentioned in this thread that some themes may have outbound connections and as such may not be supported at WA. Your best bet is to ask WA Hosting about that particular theme, if you have not asked them already. ~Jude

Wrong :-) Start a SiteRubix subdomain and test out different themes on that so you don't wreck your real website. Once you've decided on a theme you like then put it on your website before you move it across to WA. ~Marion

Thanks Marion. :) So do I need all that password stuff still or can that wait? Can I do like a copy site on rubix using the stuff I saved and play around in rubix?

Sure, just make sure that the SEO plugin isn't active so you don't generate a sitemap because you don't want duplicate content. Play around all you want. The SiteRubix subdomain is your sand pit. :-)

Marion, I may have misunderstood hostelgirl's question but I thought she is saying that she already has the Isabelle theme installed on her site at GoDaddy,

If that's so, there should be no issue about transferring her site to WA hosting with that theme already installed on her site. WA Hosting can bring the whole site over as is, including that theme.

WA uses the WP WordPress dot org self hosting platform, and the theme is supported. ~Jude

@judebanks I've just been chatting to Kathy331 and she said that some themes need an outbound connection. I'm not sure if 'isabelle' is one of those or if it would be OK. I can't check because it's a premium theme.

Okay, I understand. If she hasn't already, Hostelgirl can asking WA Hosting support about that particular theme. I've added a P.S. to my reply. Thanks!

So I ask WA tech support if they support the Isabelle theme? Is that what I am asking?

Yes, that would be a good idea in this situation. ~Jude
