I have a great domain name. I definitely want my domain name forever. Should I pay for 5 years? 10 years? Anyway to make sure nobody else can claim my domain at a later date?

I have one of mine for 10 years and most I do for at least 2 years.

Mark,
Great question glad you asked this I never considered that I
could lose my domains if not renewed in a year :(
Lesson learned next year I will make sure I go for a longer
period of time!
Thank you

I would take the 2 yr. term at least, google likes that, It show you are serious about your site and it is not wasting it's time with you.

if you like your name domain name lock it in long term and you will save a lot of money versus renewing every year, well worth it if you decide to do it.
