I purchased a domain on google varrscreativeendeavors.com - I purchased a domain here at WA varrscreativeendeavors.net I am really loving my .net site and wish that it had my .com ending. Is there a way to change them around?

Thank You

The transfer of my .com to WA was successful. Now I need to figure out where to go from here. LOL

So I initiated the switch. So far So good. I have a dot org domain here too - same name varrscreativeendeavors. My plan is to move my .com site to my .org site - and then move my .net site to my .com site.
Meaning... I have affiliate links - a lot of them on my .com site at the moment. (because I was building it wrong - I know now) I don't want to loose all that work as it could come in handy later.

So I thought I could use the MOVE feature to move the stuff I have on my .com site to my .org site.

Am I on the right track?

H, why not do one move to your dot com and then redirect your dot net and dot org to your dot com.

Keep in mind once you move a site to another, it would completely wipe out whatever on the destination site.

That is why I wasnt thinking to move anything to my .com first because I dont want to lose everything that is on the .com site ???

You can keep enhancing your dot com and redirect the others.

Or you can back up site, you can use the AIO WP Migration or Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended.

So now I have my .com here at WA - and it seems like I lost everything that was on it. Oh well, I can't let myself get all upset about it. In Site Domains it reads "Ready" whereas my .net says "Live" I click on my .com URL and the message i get is "this site cannot be found" I go back to WA and since it doesn't say "Live" i am assuming I have to Publish the site. Yet I go to "Site Manager" and what I see there is "No WordPress Website Installed" This is why i am thinking it is completely gone. Since this may be the case --- I would like what is on my .net site here to be on my .com site instead. What are the steps to move all the content from my .net to my now empty .com? Is that where I use the "move" tool?

Thank You
Connie

Hi

To update your domain DNS settings to point to WA. Here are the DNS settings.

ns1 . mywahosting . com (no spaces)
ns2 . mywahosting . com (no spaces)

These settings will be updated within your domain registrar (where you purchased your domain) after the transfer has taken place.

Yes you can either transfer or point your domain to WA servers and then apply the move button found within your site manager.

It would copy the whole site over, however you'd need wait up to 30 days (Kyle's recommendation) for 301 redirects to be completed and for search engines. After of which you may delete your dot net if you so wish to or keep it there for longer if hosting is not an issue.

Thank You - So then would i be able to build my .com and .net websites here at WA? with all the bells and whistles - the site comments, the support, the SEO etc?

Yes it should not be a problem. Keep in mind if you are thinking about transferring it could take up to 7 days however if pointing up to 24 hours.

If pointing you still have to pay your current registrar their fees, however WA charges $14 yearly privacy included.
