Yesterday I turned on site SSL certificate, yet today my website still shows a red cross in the top right corner stating "This page is trying to load scripts from unauthenticated sources." Does anyone know what that means and what I need to do to fix it? Or do I need to contact the support team?

Try do you turn off the SSL certificate and turn it back on. If this does not work yes contact support.

Load it up in Google Chrome, Right click and select "Inspect". You should then see Chrome Developer tools. Look at a tab called "Console" - it will usually tell you the offending script.

I think I've already found the problem plug-in by deactivating it on my dashboard.

I'm curious about your method too. I followed your instructions and it shows me the script, but how do I relate that to my website dashboard? (I'm still a newbie to plug-ins, scripts etc).

It won't relate it to your Wordpress dashboard as it's not a Wordpress-specific tool - it'll just show things that cause issues when a web page is rendered in the browser.

However, usually, you'll be able to make a reasonable guess to which plugin it is, based on the file that Chrome Console is flagging up.

That could be a theme issue or a plugin issue. Just to confirm, you're going to https:// right?

To troubleshoot, disable your plugins (just temporarily) and see if the issue persists. If so, one of your plugins is to blame. If not, you can try a plugin like SSL Fixer to see if that corrects the issue. The other thing to try would be a different theme to see if your current theme might be the cause.

Hi there, yes I was going to https:// (and I noticed the issue when using google chrome but not microsoft edge). I took your advice and deactivated my plug-ins and all fixed! Thanks merlynmac, you're a champ!

Ok, so now you know it's one of them. Enable one at a time until you find the culprit.
