One of the benefits we get once we become Wealthy Affiliate members is acquiring a wealth of knowledge including skills that make us self reliant. We are even able to extent our services to other people in the communities that we live.

In the event that someone asks you to offer your service in helping them to build a website, how much should you charge to build a website?

I am not talking about building a website as an expert designer but just the installation of a pre-made WordPress theme and designing and/or developing a completely custom website.

I'm sure some of us here have provided a similar service. Please feel free to share and be specific as possible in explaining your own case. Many thanks for your response.

This is a great question, and some interesting answers below. Jay also did a live training on this awhile ago. Here is the link to that training - My question is, how are you finding your clients? I'm wondering that.

Thank you very much, Mary- Elle, for putting everything aside to drop me an answer.

I will definitely go through Jay's live training, Usually, I struggle to stay up to 1:00 am, our local time to catch up with Jay's training.

Coming to your question, I have also used the training given here at WA: .
I have placed calls-to -action on my social media pages, one of my website and on my email signature.

Hello, Scott, thank you very much for responding to my question. Its so encouraging to hear your own experiences. Also, the idea of splitting up the costs makes it a lot easier - to come up with a figure.

I charge $500 ($250 deposit and $250 upon delivery). I help them purchase the domain name and hosting package (their cost). Their investment includes installation of WordPress, a premium theme that I choose ($60 cost I eat), email setup, and 5 pages (they provide the content). I also give them some basic training on using WordPress and the theme.

Thank you so much, LRenne, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to leave me this comprehensive guide. I love the idea of having a deposit fee to cater for the other expenses, such as having a premium theme.

Years ago I was quoted a price of 7,000.00 - 10,000.00 CDN dollars to build a web page (I owned the domain and had it hosted) This would give me a static front page and an about me page and 3 other pages. I also had to write all the content! They were going to use a free WP Theme that I chose!
So I learned WP and did it myself!
It is the unknown and time, so I think you could ask whatever the market in your area will bare!
Best of luck

Hello, there!
Many thanks for leaving some great advice. I appreciate, I am glad you have left some handy hints and tips that make my task easy. Otherwise, knowing exactly how much to charge is quite tricky.
Like you rightly said, I will find out the charges on this other side of the market .

Thank you so much, CoachGom, for your prompt response. I tried to search here as well at WA with no results.
