I actually have a couple of questions. Firstly, I have been looking at other websites, and one of the things that I am really attracted to is the image sliders. So instead of large text content, the website/blog would only have images and they have a countdown or other information in images.

I wasn't quite sure how you would do that in WordPress. I would love some enlightenment on this topic. :)

Also, would having images decrease the chances of you getting traffic on your website? I mean, because there isn't much text, I'm assuming it would be less likely to pop up on Google when someone searches related content. If anyone has any info on, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you again for your tremendous support!

Hi Parmi - Just a word of caution. Sliders may not work with WA's Sitespeed. Something to do with a javascript error.

I have a paid theme and the big feature of that theme is awesome sliders.

The sliders stopped working on my site when I installed Sitespeed.

I asked Carson for help, but the support team could not find a solution.

They may work with a plugin and it's just my theme but I just wanted to give you heads up.

If you turn off Sitespeed they work, but your site slows down. I big trade off in my opinion.

Best of luck

Hi Patrick!
I really appreciate you for your feedback and reply! Noted - I will be careful with the Sitespeed!
I am thinking it is my theme that doesn't have a slider option so I've been trying to figure out plugins for that. I am looking through other theme options to help me through this.
Best and thank you!

Some themes come without slider.
Best is to use an app

Thanks for the comment! Yeah I was just reading that too - to use a plugin of some sort. You have any suggestions? :)

I tried many... and did not find a good fit.

Best was to make my own slides in powerpoint and load them up.

On tablet you have various apps who do that for you...

Depending on what theme you are using there should be a Slider Function.
You have to go into Customize through Appearances.

Images are ok as long as you have your keyword/keyword phrase as your Alt Tag.

Images do get a lot of traffic, almost as much as videos.

Thanks for the feedback Robert!

In regards to the slider function, I've been trying to find a solution for that, but have not been able to do so in the customize section. I will try to dig a little deeper and see if I can find myself to figure that out.

Okay - good to know that images work as well! :) What would you suggest putting as an alternate text? Would you just suggest typing whatever the image is, or would you suggest writing an Alt Tag to more of the content of the post?

Appreciate your help here Robert! :)

Main Keyword in first image and secondary keywords in others.
A very short description as well.
Maybe your theme has no Slider Function.

Okay, will give it a go with the images with your suggestions! Thank you!
Yeah - I just read an article that said there are plugins that you can download which will help with putting up the slider. I'm trying that right now to see if it works. Will keep you posted! :)

Hi Parmi, it depends on the theme! Some have it some don't! Look at my site...https://englishfastfun.com/
The theme is Virtue.
Another theme I am using also has slider function. Its Sydney.

And definitely use pictures!! Also very good for Pinterest! Which by the way, when you get to a certain lesson by Kyle, has the BIGGEST online increase of ANY website! They basically will take only pictures...You should create your own pinterest account soon!
Hope this HELPS!

Thanks for the feedback Tom! Okay, yes I am beginning to see that not all themes have the slider function. I am still trying to find the best theme for me. (My website in improvingyourrunning.com - if you have any good theme ideas in mind for my website please let me know. I am looking for something that is slider friendly and also with blocks rather than just a long list of articles).
Sure - thanks for letting me know about Pinterest! I don't have an account there yet, but I am thinking of creating one for my website.
Thanks for the help and support Tom!
Best,

Hi Parmi,

I can only suggest "Sydney" that is what I will be using and am using for my NEW site...which is about my LIFE/HOME is a suitcase!! It has the slider function as well...check it out.
You can always PREVIEW the theme before you install it.
3000 or so to choose from...Good luck!
