Afew days ago I posted on here about trying to move an up and running website from GoDaddy to WA. I was given some help but I am going crazy with this. Was told I need a ftp user name and password but I don't know where it is. Are any of the screenshots below where I should be and which bit next? I can't appear to find the bits mentioned in my account manager and GoDaddy said its because I have managed word press instead of cpanel. I don't understand and am going back and forth between them and tech support here.

Don't have the tech knowledge to help you out Julie but I wish you luck in getting it sorted.

I can definitely empathise with your struggle because I absolutely hate going around in circles....so frustrating when you just want to be cracking on!

Good luck

It sounds like you don't have FTP access so making the move will be a bit more difficult. Here's some steps for you to follow:
1) Put all your images in a single folder on your computer (they don't get exported)
2) Use Tools=> Export (All content) to save your posts, pages and comments etc. to the same folder on your computer
3) Make a list of your plugins and any API keys for them so you'll know what you need when you install them again
4) Make a note of which theme you're using and any theme options
DON'T change the nameservers (DNS) until you've backed up everything. Then follow WA tech support's advice about setting up your new website.
I hope this helps. ~Marion

Will try it out when I next get a chance. Thanks Marion. I saved the content/exported but didn't know about the images so will do that next.

I like that too Marion.

Test it out on a SiteRubix subdomain before you make a commitment. Then you'll see what problems, if any, may arise.

Oh dear, I am concerned about getting my first similar "move" just right. Thank you for the alert re: it might not be such smooth sailing from GoDaddy to WA. So I will watch your other answers and try to learn....
Good luck Hostelgirl!

Thanks. It's probably easier if you don't have a toddler hounding you. :)
