I've been studying sitespeed because my page speeds aren't good. Repeatedly in my search, I'm coming across CDN's. Have any of you tried using a CDN to speed up your site? Did this help you? Which did you use?

Hi Tiffany,

I see you raised this question on CDNs. Have you tried implementing it?

I am trying to implement it now, and I say it's a bit of a learning curve as it's not just plug and play.
There are lots of caching techniques and so many things to learn to do it right.
Site Support in WA wouldn't provide any assistance on this. I asked simple question on IP address for the hosting and they stated they don't support CDN.

I am trying cloudflare. I got their Pro package, but after switching to CDN first impressions are not good. Speed is about the same as what we have already. But I have to optimize caching to improve the speed.
Now I am thinking if it's worth dealing with all this.

Kyle said the hosting package has its own CDN type of thing, so that’s why you can’t add one here. They already have their own caching and optimization settings as well. I don’t think it’s worth it if you’re hosted at Wealthy Affiliate.

Ok I see. Thanks for the feedback.

I think you also use Thrive products and because of this site builder our speed is kind of impacted when checking through Google speed testing website.

So i guess we should only optimize image sizes and use caching plugin like W3 Total cache. I don't want to stop using Thrive as it's a huge help.

I started digging through all the settings after last Google update as my traffic dipped more than 50%. It's getting better now, but still far from what it used to be.

I've been looking at a few, but I'd like to hear some people's experiences. Let's see what we get!

If you host thru Wealthy Affiliate, Site Support said we cannot use CDN's because they use something like that for SiteSpeed on our sites.
