Hello Team Support,

I want to build a sub domain for my existing local website which was built by my husband in a html sort of website and in another language and somewhat limited.

I am having difficulty putting contents there as I have to ask my husband to do it for me otherwise I can't do anything.

My question is - Can I build this sub domain here? Will there be any disadvantage? Will it compliment my existing website?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Kind regards,

Arline E. Raijmakers

In my experience the best solution is to create a subdomain and install WordPress on the subdomain.

You can then proceed with building a website as per the lessons.

Your husband can add a link from his website to your website if that's what you both want.

Hi Marion,

Thanks a lot for your reply. That's what I intend to do. The subdomain will be for the blog.

My website's name is feelnhealmassage.be - subdomain will be feelnhealmassageblog.be

What do you think? Should I proceed?

That wouldn't be a subdomain Arline. The subdomain would be blog.feelnhealmassage.be A subdomain is always something then a dot then the main domain name.

To get feelnhealmassageblog.be you would have to buy a new domain name.

Okay thanks a lot. But my local website is hosted in another platform outside of WA. How can I built the sub domain here?

Sorry I am kinda confused.

A subdomain is part of a main domain. You can only create a subdomain where your main domain is hosted so you'll have to do it wherever that is. You can still go through all the lessons and build your website even if it's hosted somewhere else.

Ok but my problem really is... that website is built in a html code and I don't understand a thing about it.

I supposed if I built it there it would also be a html website or is it not?

I am really confused. I appreciate your help a lot.

Or maybe I should just built a new website with a "blog" title in it. And from the main website .. contents will be linked to my new website.

Is this a solution?
