How do I get the comments to section to show on my website. I've tried several solutions but nothing works. Some of the pages and post on the same website allows for comments

Hey Jerome, I assume you are referring to your first site. The other sites all have the comment section. Are they are all using the same theme? Clearly the first site has it hidden. And it is problem since the visitor cannot leave a comment.

As suggested by JudeBanks below, click the Screen Options and make the adjustments.

The pages should automatically display the comment section.

The posts, however, maybe more complicated. For testing purposes, go into a post and go to the tool bar and towards the right side is an icon that looks like a road with a middle divider (dotted line). This is a page breaker. Click that it will put a page break in the post. Then click preview at the upper right and see if the page break forces the comment section to appear. There are many themes that are designed this way by default. If so, you may have to use the page break and divide your posts in half to expose the comment section. Now, I don't know how your theme functions but give it a try.

Hello PastorTae................just tried what you said also. It did not work. In the back office of my site, it clear shows that the comment section buttons are checked (settings, screen options) but when I click "preview or view site" it doesn't show up where the viewer can see that section.

ok. when I get stuck like that I do a Google search with the theme name and the problem. You will find a ton of discussion because it's WordPress. Follow one of those discussion and you might get an answer. You can post a question on those forums too. I had to resort to that many times to fix my problem. Sorry I could not help. I will give it some thought. I am surprised. Usually the page-break forces the comments to appear.

ok. so, when do you did the page break, there is a note that appears at the bottom of the post that says something like "read more" or "keep reading" -did you see that? You would have to click that to force the second half of the post to appear with the comments

PastorTae, maybe I didn't do the page break task correctly. After rereading your instructions, I'm still not sure how to create the page break in a post. I don't see the icon that looks like a road. It's late, guess I will try again tomorrow when my head is much clearer.
Thanks

Jerome

in your actual post, there is a toolbar at the top. The page break icon is the second one to right. It's two thick lines with a dotted line in the middle. Clicking it once will put a dotted line into your post.

Comments will only show on the page/post that it was commented on.

That's true, Tommy. But I could not make a comment on one of the Review posts because there was no visible comment field at all.

Jerome has Getting Started as a static home page, his "Home" page is not set up as a blogroll. That could be the issue.

~Jude

He can also go on the page he wants to add comments to and click on the screen options on the top right side of the edit page to see if the comments tab is checked on or off.

Yes, correct. He has tried that as well. ~Jude

Comments are enabled on WP posts and pages by default.

Click on Screen Options on the top right in WP admin, and check the box that says Discussion. That should enable you to see your comments discussion settings at the bottom of each post or page, where you can turn them off/on as you wish.

To always have comments turned on, go to the Settings > Discussion screen and make sure you have comments enabled. ~Jude

Hello Jude.......thanks for the input....I just followed your instructions for every post and page on my http://avoidonlinemoneymakingscams.com/ site but several of the pages and one of the post still does not enable comments.

Still stuck....
Jerome

Yes, I went to your site and can see the comments for the WA review but not for the Quidbids review.

It appears that you have two home pages, one called 'Home", and one called 'Getting Started'. That may be the issue. Anyway, it needs to be fixed.

In admin, go to Settings > Reading and at the top of the page choose "latest blog posts" as the front page display of your site. The Getting Started page then becomes just another page on your website.

See if that results in the comments fields re-appearing after you log out and check it on the web.

If that does not work, and you feel comfortable with it, send me a
Private Message with your website login details (username/pw), and
I will be glad to take a look to see what the problem could be.

I'm signing off now and will be out for the evening but I can take a look tomorrow, if you wish.

~Jude

Hello Jude...................I corrected the home page but the comments problems remain :( I'm sending you a private message.

My pleasure!

Yes Bootcamp is where many start. Like Ken said, the main thing is that you focus on one at a time to cut down on confusion.
