I am interested in selling a domain name on Flippa. It is asking me to verify the domain and requests that "I Copy the TXT Record below into your DNS configuration, then press

You may try the site support team.

I did but since it is not associated with a website (it is a domain only), it didn't show up in the list. However, it does give an option to get around that.

Thanks,
Mary Ann

Was your domain purchased here or elsewhere?

If elsewhere, you can contact the registrar's docs or support with this on the how.

Did you hear from site support here?

Use the alternative Mary Ann

Here and yes.

Alternative?

And?

Are the free domains (1 for Premium and 2 for Premium Plus) an ongoing incentive, or was that just a sign-up bonus for last year? I don't see any mention of it in the Pricing d

They are permanent incentives, but only pay for the first year's registration.

Carson has given you some very good advice and guidance here…let us know if you have any further questions.

-Mike

Carson has you covered here, Maryann :) And good to see you.

Hi Maryann, the free domains that come with Premium and Premium Plus+ are a sign-up bonus when you upgrade from Starter. For year 2, you'll need to setup billing for your domains or use WA Cash Credits. We've kept our domain prices as low as possible over the years, so you'll enjoy very competitive domain prices being here at WA!

Cheers,

Carson

Thank you, Carson. I figured that was the way it worked but wanted to clarify.

I would like to change my WordPress theme on one of my websites. However, the theme I have chosen is DRASTIFALLY DIFFERENT from my current one so just going into customize and

Hi, I'd go to Appearance > Themes and add New. Choose something you like, install and activate.

I would advice changing it to GeneratePress theme as the majority uses that theme.

GeneratePress is extremely light, fast, well coded, SEO optimised, flexible, adaptable and customisable

Premium version of GeneratePremium is even better and good value for money plus you get to choose different themes

https://generatepress.com/premium/
https://generatepress.com/site-library/

You may also check my notes on below notes for further options

Thanks but this is not the answer I was looking for. I know how to do this and I also have the GeneratePress theme. Like I said, the changes I want to make are completely different to what I have now.

Hi, you can submit a ticket to site support and ask them for a previous version of your site before you made the changes.

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites/support

For future reference you may want to back up before making major changes you can use the AIO WP Migrations and Updraft plugins. UpdraftPlus is a premium and highly recommended.

If my product page is full of links to products, should I add the rel=”nofollow” to every single link OR if I just add it to the page, will all the links be automa

Hi Mary Ann, thanks for the question. I do add no follow to Affiliate links as I had read it should be added, but can't remember where I've seen it.

FYI, many of the links from affiliate networks are by default no follow links, so there's no need to add this parameter.

Hey Mary Ann,

Seems you are not the only one wondering... so I Google searched your question. See screen print below...

Glad you asked this question, as I'm betting that I would have automatically added nofollow links if I designed a page like what you are describing... so, Thank YOU! I learned something new today. :-)

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks, Trish. I can always count on you to help out! Glad you learned something as well. Hopefully, this will answer my question(s) :).

Ok, I do understand the importance of having the actual page 'followed' to be recognized in the search results but what about the individual affiliate links? Should I manually add a 'no follow' to them?

That's what I took from that question asked of Google too Mary Ann, yes. So ONLY add a nofollow link to your product pages if you do not want them to appear in search results.

For affiliate links that I have ever sprinkled in posts, I DO add the rel="noopener noreferrer" link, as I do with all of my external links.

I used to add the nofollow, but got rid of that plugin, in an effort to reduce plugins, so no longer worry about adding that to any links anymore.

Neil Patel's site claims the following:"As it turns out, nofollow links can help you leverage that SEO potential. And they don't do it indirectly, but directly. More than likely, since Google knows about nofollow links, they've worked something into their algorithm to still provide benefit to the referenced pages, despite that nofollow HTML tag."

Others claim that Google no longer pays attention... but MOST still claim they DO work. Not having been at this for years on end, I cannot state an opinion as an expert, but rather a personal opinion (which I already stated above).

So, if you want to hear from experts on this topic, Google searching "does the nofollow really work" (without the quotation marks, of course) and read through some of the posts offered in your search results.

You may decide that it is worth while manually adding that to your links... or not.

Hi Trish.

That's what I am getting from the research on google as well. Thanks again for weighing in. I am going over pages to see whether or not the No Follow is needed. Cheers!

May I ask why would you have a page full of product links, there should be an affiliate link for every 500 words.

This is not a post. It's a landing page of specific products from a specific company, therefore, the product links.

WA have disabled WordPress Cron from running (Scheduled Tasks). I understand their reasoning for WordPress Core Updates which is Disabled, but not about Cron. I think I might ask SiteSupport as to why they have done it, but it's disabled on everyones installation, so don't worry about it :-)

I guess we are good to go then. Thanks.

Mary Ann

I had this the other day, queried it with site support and was advised it didn't affect anything

Thanks, Dave!
