Should Guest Blogs Rank?
2
I am looking into having someone do some blogging for me. Information I have found suggests guest blogs should be between 200 and 800 or 800 - 1000.
In terms of ranking, is a guest blogger different than a content writer? If I am having someone do writing (content for my website), then should I be asking for 1000 words minimum. Should my agreement with them say Content Blogger instead of Guest Blogger?
Thanks,
Mary Ann

Hi Mary Ann, I don't specify how many words my guest writers must submit. I am happy with anything over 500 words.
I think the shortest post I ever received was around 600 words. Most guest writers send me 800 to 1500 words per post.
I ususlly add my own voice which adds anything from 100 to 500 words to a post.
In terms of ranking, it's your website, your aim is for all your posts rank, whether they are written by guest writers or yourself.
If your guest writer doesn't know how to do Keyword research, I recommend you do it for them.
Thanks a bunch! I really appreciate this. I just thought we HAD to have 1000 plus words to get ranked. Is this incorrect?
I have a more specific question so I will send you a PM.
Thanks again,
Mary Ann
