Ad sense changes
This morning I received an email notifying me of several changes in Ad Sense. I have to admit that I don’t follow my Ad Sense account. I have the little running display ads in my sidebar and in my footer but not throughout my blogs or information.
After reading the changes, I went to my Ad Sense account and was pleasantly surprised to see money sitting there.
The changes will be affecting Ad Sizes, Ad Types, Text Ad Styles, If No Ads Available, Experiments, and Synchronous Codes:
AD SIZES
Ads will be responsive and able to adjust to mobile and desktop efficiently.
AD TYPES
Text-only and display ad units will be phased out and if you already have them set up, they will be renamed Display ads
TEXT AD STYES
In the future you will not be able create ad styles for new ad units. The new units will have Google-optimized text and styling. You will be able to use Native Ads (link here).
SIMPLIFYING "IF NO ADS AVAILABLE"
This option will be removed.
EXPERIMENTS
Active ad and unit experiments will no longer be available and the experiments reports will be removed from the Reports lab.
SYNCHRONOUS CODE
This option will no longer be available, however you can manually update your ad code (link here).
These changes are happening in part because Google Ad sense wants to invest in making their Ad Products more Modern.
I hope when you check your Ad Sense account, you will be pleasantly surprised like I was and find some money sitting there..
Do You Use Ad Sense and What Do You Think of it?

Mine was similar and Adsense is one of a couple of Adshare options I run, but the changes seem good so far
I must confess Dave that it does sound a bit confusing to me but if you say the changes are good, I trust your input :).

I was also hosting AdSense ads until I changed my theme and the new theme does not support displaying AdSense ads. No matter how I try putting up an AdSense ad on my site's side bar, the ad does not display. No ad is being displayed.
That's a bummer! Maybe one of our more advanced techie people here can help you out.
When I first started using Ad Sense, I just copied and pasted the code to all my websites in the sidebar and/or footer. If that becomes an issue, I am not sure what I will do - cross that bridge if I come to it.
