How do you build confidence in yourself?

Last Update: August 22, 2018

What is confidence? Can you lose it? How do you build confidence and keep it?

The definition of confidence is a feeling of self-assurance arising from one's appreciation of one's own abilities or qualities.

We all have many talents and abilities, some of which may not be fully realized or accepted.

So can we lose our confidence?

We fully trust in ourselves, others, our country or perhaps something mechanical. What if.?

  • When our, trust is betrayed we lose confidence in them.
  • If policies or something we expected by our country does not work out the way we thought it would, we lose confidence perhaps in an elected official or our governing body.
  • Our vehicle breaks down and does not work, then we are disappointed and we lose confidence in that brand or model.

What about confidence in ourselves?

This is something we have more control over than the others mentioned above.

Do you work on becoming confident every day? To become a success you need to work on this each and every day.

One way to work on your confidence is to write your goals down on a card or piece of paper where you envision where you want to be in affiliate or online marketing in 6 months or a year, or perhaps in 5 years. Each day pull out this paper and read it. Put these goals on your computer monitor and also your refrigerator. Anywhere you can see it daily.

Visualizing this daily becomes a part of your inner voice which affects your confidence, and transforms your thoughts in a positive way.

Read some good quotes, or perhaps set smaller goals and when you have reached them reward yourself in some way even if it's a small walk and time away from work.

Here are several quotes that will help you if you feel more confident:

"Confidence like art, never comes from having all the answers: it comes from being open to all the questions" Earl Gray Stevens

"Failure is success if we learn from it" Malcolm Forbes

"A tiger does not lose sleep over the opinion of sheep"

"Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong"

We are not born with an over-abundance of confidence. It is something we work on throughout our life. We build it and keep it by not allowing ourselves to give in to the negative aspects in the world around us. I call this stinkin thinking. We feel lost before even trying!

If we do not allow this to happen cutting into our self-esteem then we will keep our confidence and become as successful as we can.

How about yourself? Share with me what you do to maintain your confidence? I welcome your comments.

I like your posts very much, Bill.

I have been reading self-development books for about 7 years now. For some weeks ago I started to work on my self-esteem each day, doing meditation and visualization, and I read, listen and learn from great people like Tony Robbins, Bob Proctor, T. Harv Eker and Tom Bilyeu.

Love these quotes you have shared:
"Failure is Success if we Learn from it."
"Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong"

Thank you so much. I have learned so much over the years from some great motivators. Jim Rohn is another one who has awesome views. I have seen him in person. I can’t remember the books right now, but after I get home I will note them.
Have a super day!

From an early age my dad taught me. You can do anything you set your mind to. If you don’t know learn how.

You are correct. My father gave me this wisdom also. I never give up!
