#58 Harness Email
Harness the Power of Email
Steps to Harness the Power of Email:
In addition to building your Social Media Following & doing regular Blog Posts, use email properly as a ‘Business-Building-Tool’.
Focus on growing and engaging your Email List to turn blog readers into repeat visitors & customers. Add ‘Them’ to your Autoresponder.
Here are four steps:
Step 1:
Hook ‘Them’ with a “bribe” to get ‘Them’ on your List.
A report is the most common incentive. Don’t ask ‘Them’ to ‘Optin’; instead, ask ‘Them’ to ‘Register’ to receive the Report.
Your best option is to build a ‘Content Library’. Then, give readers the option to ‘Register’ for access to your library.
Your library should contain a series of your best blog posts and other great Content.
Use your ‘Hub-Website’ to set up your ‘Library’ and the registration process. The Webpage that contains you ‘Library’, requires ‘Them’ to ‘Register’ for access.
‘Psychologically’, asking ‘Them’ to ‘Register’ for something is much better than asking ‘Them’ to ‘Optin’ to something… not as spamy.
Another good option for a bribe is a short ‘E-Course’ which drip-feeds tips by email to ‘Them’.
An e-course allows you to stay in touch, build the Relationship & show your Expertise & Authority. This turns cold connections into warm Prospects… your ‘Tribe’.
Steps for Creating an E-Course:
Step 1:
1 Brainstorm for tips to solve ‘Their’ common problems
2 Pick the best tips that are effective & easy for ‘Them’ to implement
3 Write a short email for each tip
4 Increase the appeal of your e-course by including a Visual Tutorial, made with ‘Screencast-O-Matic’ (Google it)
5 Create an enticing name for your e-course
Since ‘They’ are eager to learn, ‘They’ will look forward to receiving your emails. Send them frequently to get ‘Them’ hooked.
What value can you give your readers so they look forward to your emails?
Step 2:
Convert your blog readers into fans & get ‘Them’ on your List.
Provide a Link that takes ‘Them’ to a dedicated ‘Landing Page’, rather than your Home Page.
Step 3: Review your traffic sources
To improve your ability to grow your list, you must know which of your activities work best.
Step 4: Make ‘Them’ look forward to hearing from you
Provide great Content & make ‘Them’ Know-Like-&Trust’ you.
Build ‘Their’ desire to be a member of your ‘Tribe’.

Wally,
You asked me a while back whether I was ever thanked by anyone for help offered. I don't remember how I answered you, but I will say this. I make it a point to thank folks for everything of value that they offer. This blog is really good. Well organized and very useful and applicable. I have added it to my files and will definitely use it. The potential is signifigant. Thank you.....Dick
I like to apply the L.I.S.T. Principle: (to something new learned)
L = Learn
I = Implement
S = Share
T = Train

Wally could you write about ' dedicated landing page '. What it is dedicated to?
As you probably already know, a Landing Page (also called an Optin Page) is a page that has only one purpose. That purpose is to get 'Them' to give you 'Their' email address (and name) plus permission to email 'Them'. Usually you bribe 'Them' with something of value in exchange for 'Them' filling-out the Optin-Form.
It is called a "Dedicated" Landing Page because it is dedicated to ONLY that one purpose. It contains 'The Bribe' & the Form for 'Them' to fill-out… and nothing else (dedicated).
If you send 'Them' to your Home Page, 'They' have access to your entire Site & 'They' may get distracted & never fill-out the Optin Form.
By sending 'Them' to the 'Dedicated Landing Page', 'They' can do only one thing, which is whatever (dedicated) thing you want 'Them' to do.
Is that what you wanted me to write about?
