Building A ‘Digital-Commerce’ Biz

Know your Audience: (Who-What-When-Where-Why & How)

·Who ‘They’ are -

·Where ‘They’ hangout -

·What ‘They’ want or need -

·“Why” ‘They’ want it (include the ‘Becauses’ with the ‘Why’)

·‘When’ the time is right for ‘Them’; (On ‘Their’ schedule – not yours)

·AND NOW FOR THE “HOW”:

- Get ‘Their’ Attention by Creating-Great-Content
- Make it available with an Effective Distribution Method
- Cause ‘Them’ to Believe in you (Know-Like-& Trust)
- “Give” ‘Them’ 95% of it for free (The ‘Bikini Principle’)
- ‘They’ will gladly pay for the other 5% (The Whole Package)
- ‘They’ will tell other folks about you (Referrals)
- ‘They’ will wonder & be receptive to what else you have (Repeat Business)
- Get ‘Them’ to Optin to your Content instead of your Product (‘Content Marketing’)
- Your Content will do the ‘Selling’ so you don’t have to
- The Audience is your Asset (along with your Content)

* The FIRST & Most Important step is the Audience:
- Building something to Offer & then trying to find an Audience that wants it, is the wrong path.
- If you have an Audience, you can then determine what ‘They’ want, which dictates what you build to Offer.
- If you have an Audience & know what ‘They’ want, you can say: “Hey, take a look at my content. It will be beneficial to you.”
- When you build your own audience, ‘They’ are yours to keep & serve.

How to distinguish between ‘Free’ & ‘Paid’ Content- Use the “Bikini Concept”. Show ‘Them’ 95% for free & they’ll still pay for the last 5%.
- Talk in general about the 'Solution' and the 'How'. Tell ‘Them’ 95% of the solution and ‘They’ll’ still want the other 5% in a step by step format.
- Also, you can give away everything in text and then sell it in a different format such as video.

Rather than spending your Time, Money & Efforts building a Site
- Start building your business… a ‘Digital-Commerce-Business’
- Digital Commerce is the sale and fulfillment of digital products and services online… anything that can be delivered digitally online.
- What ‘They’ really are buying is more than the Content (this is important).
- ‘They’ are also buying ‘Access’ to a ‘Beneficial Experience’.
- ‘They’ want the ‘Feeling of Belonging’ to something that’s ‘Exclusive’.
- It’s also the Support & Camaraderie of the Community
- The right information, at the right time, in the right place & properly Organized is life-changing. That is Value worth being paid-for.
- Yes, Information alone wants to be free but with those other attributes & values, payment is justified and necessary.
- The ‘Value’ comes from it being Convenient, Efficient, Cohesive & from a Trusted Source.
- It is not the Information that is being bought… it’s the Benefits provided by the Information. “They’re buying the holes, not the drill”.
- The ‘Benefits-Of-Information’ is focused on Comprehension, Retention, Engagement, Learning, Implementing, Sharing & Teaching.
- To get to the bottom of any situation, you must go through a series of “Whys & Becauses”. (Why do ‘They’ want the Holes produced by the Drill… Because ‘They’ want to hang a piece of art. Why do ‘They’ want to hang the art… Because ‘They’ want pleasure & to impress other folks. Then continue with more follow-up, Whys & Becauses.)
- You’re not selling Information. You’re selling access to Benefits & Outcomes. What you’re selling is the making available & delivery of those Benefits.

Great point about exclusivity. Having something no one else has is a great motivator.

If I may just make a brief comment with respect to the "they," "them," "their" references. Somehow it seems cold, aloof, off-putting. They have a name or a noun. They are the audience, potential customers, customers, people. Perhaps you might reconsider the pronoun for the noun. It might then make it easier and friendlier to read the other valuable information. Just a thought.
